Welterweight GOAT Georges St-Pierre previews Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena

UFC Legend Georges St-Pierre recently presented his assessment of the upcoming UFC 315 main event between reigning Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad and title challenger Jack Della Maddalena.

St-Pierre analyzed various aspects of Muhammad and Maddalena’s fight games to elect a favorite for the upcoming 170-pound title fight.

Georges St-Pierre Rates Belal Muhammad a Better MMA Fighter

Georges St-Pierre is one of the strongest contenders in the MMA GOAT debate. Several noteworthy UFC figures have also rated him the best welterweight in UFC history.

St-Pierre holds a pro-MMA record of 26-2, including nine consecutive UFC welterweight title defenses, the most in the division’s history. The Canadian also boasts several finishes over his rivals via submissions and KO/TKOs, which testifies to his well-rounded fight game.

St-Pierre recently appeared in an interview with Bloody Elbow, breaking down the upcoming welterweight title fight between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena.

He started his analysis saying, “Belal [Muhammad] is perfect. He’s a complete package. He’s good everywhere, and he has got a very awkward style that throws a lot of people off, especially in the striking department.”

Talking about Maddalena, St-Pierre said, “Jack [Della Maddalena] on the other side. He is on a tear. He’s got a good momentum. He’s on a winning streak, and it’s going to be an interesting fight.”

St-Pierre praised Maddalena’s striking skills, too: “Jack, I think, could have the advantage in the striking department.” But he opined that Muhammad’s “tools” will give him a slight edge over his rival by helping him better use the MMA ruleset.

“Rush” said, “It’s not only a kickboxing match. It’s mixed martial arts, and that’s where I believe Belal Muhammad takes advantage. I think he’s got more tools to win.”

Despite counting Muhammad as his favorite, St-Pierre didn’t neglect Maddalena’s chances to win the fight.

Muhammad recently issued a startling warning to his Australian rival on X ahead of UFC 315. “Remember The Name” reposted an X update, highlighting that he had shattered two over-ten-fight winning streaks in his career.

He destroyed Sean Brady’s undefeated 15-0 pro-MMA record with a TKO victory over him at UFC 280. The 12-fight winning streak of the former welterweight king, Leon Edwards, became Muhammad’s next prey.

Muhammad called himself “The streak killer” in the caption of his repost, indicating that he would take away Maddalena’s 17-fight winning streak on the night of UFC 315. The Perth native has defeated welterweight mainstays Kevin Holland and Gilbert Burns in his last two outings.
