Has Francis Ngannou Been Declared Innocent in Recent Fatal Road Accident Case? Probe Reportedly Takes a Horrific Turn

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou was reportedly involved in a road accident that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old woman. According to sources, the Cameroonian was traveling on his motorcycle when he allegedly crashed into the victim. Ngannou himself tried to get her medical attention by taking her to the hospital, but her life, tragically, could not be saved.

New Update Emerges in Francis Ngannou’s Road Accident Case

The Yaoundé High Court recently issued a press release that revealed shocking new information about the road accident case involving Ngannou. The court shared an update saying that a major medical oversight took place during the treatment of the victim, Tsama Manuella. According to the update, the victim was on the receiving end of an anesthesia overdose, which led to her demise.

The statement by the court then asked for the hospital establishment and staff to be investigated.

“A serious medical error was made while taking care of Ms Tsama Manuella in hospital, including an overdose of anesthesia, which directly contributed to her death. We ask that all light be shed on the responsibility of the hospital establishment and the nursing staff.”

Ngannou appears to have been quite affected by the case. The 38-year-old shared a statement with TMZ Sports in which he spoke about the incident. Ngannou shared how he was attempting to support the victim’s family during this difficult time.

“From the very beginning, I have been by the family’s side, offering support, comfort, and deepest condolences during this time,” said Ngannou. “I’ve met with them privately to share in their grief, and I will continue to stand with them every step of the way. I carry their pain with me, and my unwavering thoughts and support remain with them as they face this heartbreaking loss.”

Ngannou’s last UFC appearance was in January 2022 when he successfully defended his title by defeating Ciryl Gane at UFC 270. “The Predator” then parted ways with the promotion due to contractual disputes.

Despite that lengthy absence from UFC, Ngannou was last seen in action in October 2024 when he squared iff against Renan Ferreira at the PFL Super Fights event. The event, which marked Ngannou’s first MMA outing since his departure from the UFC, took place at the Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Predator made quick work of his opponent and knocked him out in the fight’s opening round. With the victory, Ngannou was declared the inaugural PFL Super Fights Heavyweight Champion.
