Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, recently got into a mild altercation with a man inside a bar. The man allegedly pushed Jackson’s cameraman, forcing the 46-year-old to step in.
Jackson is one of the pioneers of the sport, having built a huge fanbase during his time with Pride FC. He is also an actor and a podcast host.
UFC Fans React to Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson’s Heated Moment
Despite his MMA persona, in which he walked out with chains around his neck, Jackson has always shown his humorous side. Many fans got to see more of it on the “Jaxxon” podcast, which he co-hosts with Bear Degidio.
The dormant, rough side of Jackson woke up when he saw his friend being disrespected at the bar. The former UFC champion seemingly scared off the alleged perpetrator. Seeing the moment, a woman nearby questioned Jackson’s behavior, to which he recounted the situation.
Fans on social media had a field day after the incident.
“That girl thought she was jon jones for a sec,” a fan commented. Jackson had fought Jones for the light heavyweight title at UFC 135. He lost the fight via rear-naked choke submission in the fourth round.
“Rampage is a piece of s***,” a second fan commented.
“That guy needs his a** kicked,” another fan commented.
Many fans seemingly didn’t like Jackson’s presence at the bar, particularly with a camera. “40+ years old streaming still going out acting like a high school kid,” said one user on X.
“Maybe you should get the camera out of the bar,” said another person.
“Kinda odd to record at a bar but to each their own,” said one more user.
Jon Jones Was a Huge Fan of Jackson
Jackson has always been vocal about Jones’ alleged tactics during his fights, particularly the eye pokes. Interestingly, Jones was a huge fan of Jackson long before they fought at UFC 135.
More than a year ago, Jones’ younger brother, Chandler Jones, appeared on the “Jaxxon” podcast, where the former Super Bowl champion revealed his older brother’s admiration of Jackson.
“I’m Jon’s little brother, so I know who he fanboys over. And, before y’all fight, he couldn’t sleep. And I don’t give a f*** who he fought … I’m talking to this day, he could not sleep. We all been fan of you before him, before he became a UFC fighter. We was picking you in the UFC game,” Jones’ brother said.
Jackson admitted Jones defeated the best version of himself when they fought. For the fight, the 46-year-old had trained at high altitude and felt he would make easy work of “Bones.” Despite admitting defeat, Jackson hilariously threw shade at his former foe, claiming that he was a dirty fighter.
