Holland is known for being an active fighter, and 2025 has been no exception. He has already competed three times this year. In his first outing, Holland faced Reinier de Ridder at UFC 311 in January, where he suffered a devastating first-round submission loss.
However, he bounced back with a strong performance in March, earning a unanimous decision win over Gunnar Nelson. He continued his momentum at UFC 316 on June 7, where he secured a second-round submission victory.
Another fighter from UFC 316, Joshua Van, who scored a knockout win over Bruno Silva, recently took to X and teased fans with an update, writing: “Fight news coming soon.”

Another one added, “No one does it like Holland and Josh Van,”
One MMA enthusiast inquired, “4th one of 2025 incoming, how many you going for this year?”

Kevin Holland Targets Colby Covington for His Next Fight
Following his impressive win at UFC 316, Holland spoke with Joe Rogan during his Octagon interview and expressed his desire to stay in the 170-pound division rather than bouncing between weight classes. He called out former welterweight title challenger Colby Covington and emphasized that it would be an easier fight compared to his most recent one.
“I’m professional these days and I think I can stay here at 170 and make some noise,” Holland said. “So Colby Covington, man, you’re the worst guy in the welterweight division. And I like beating up on sorry people. Luque was a tough fight, Colby will be an easy one. Book us in the summertime or book us in the fall.”
Now that Holland has teased a fight announcement, it will be interesting to see who the UFC books him against and whether he gets the Covington fight or not.
