Colby Covington watched WrestleMania 41 live from the Allegiant Stadium, and it seemed his polarizing reception in the UFC has translated to the WWE community. Boos serenaded ‘Chaos’ when he was showed on the big screen.
Covington, a former interim UFC welterweight champion and two-time title challenger for the undisputed title, is presently on a two-fight losing streak.
Netizens react to Colby Covington’s appearance at WrestleMania 41
Covington made a name for himself in the UFC not by his fighting style but by his persona. At WrestleMania 41, the California-born wrestler was certainly in character as he entertained the boos from the crowd.
The 37-year-old’s persona in front of the camera has had many predict that ‘Chaos’ will transition to WWE after the end of his UFC career. With the UFC and WWE being sister organizations under the TKO umbrella, it seems that the time will be sooner rather than later.
Fight fans on social media acknowledged Covington’s appearance at Allegiant Stadium.
“Already a heel set it WWE”, a fan commented.

Not all fans supported Covington, as many threw shade at the former interim UFC welterweight champion.
“Man it’s so sad how much of a loser he is,” a fan commented.
“He’s good at nothing. That’s why,” a second fan wrote.
“BOOOO!!! You suck!!!”, another fan said.
Presently ranked ninth in the division, Covington’s best days in MMA seem far behind. At one point, UFC CEO Dana White claimed that ‘Chaos’ would’ve been the undisputed welterweight champion if not for Kamaru Usman, against whom Covington lost two title fights. It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 37-year-old.
Colby Covington walked out with WWE legend at UFC Tampa
Covington last fought at UFC Tampa, the final event of the promotion in 2024, against Joaquin Buckley. ‘Chaos’ lost the fight by third-round TKO after the cage-side doctor stopped the fight due to a cut above his eye.
Despite the fight ending in unceremonious fashion, Covington’s walkout entertained the crowd. He walked out with WWE icon Hulk Hogan and UFC Hall of Famer Chael Sonnen to the 71-year-old’s iconic theme song, Real American. The retired professional wrestling legend carried the American flag as he walked beside the UFC welterweight.
Before UFC Tampa, Covington had used Kurt Angle’s iconic theme song, You Suck, as his walkout music. Like Covington, Angle also came from an NCAA Division I wrestling background. However, Angle’s accomplishments from collegiate to Olympic level are far above those of Covington’s.
Covington recently appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 33. The latest installment of the reality series features Chael Sonnen coaching against Daniel Cormier. As expected, Sonnen, who is like a mentor to Covington, roped him in his team. The show was finished in December and will be telecast in late May.
