Elon Musk has a one-word reaction to Joe Rogan’s latest take on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a newly instated department in the U.S. government popularized by Musk.
The Tesla CEO has been the public face of DOGE, which is believed to be an integral part of the current U.S. regime. DOGE is helmed by the Republican Party’s Donald Trump, who officially ascended to the POTUS (President of the United States) seat in Jan. 2025.
Joe Rogan’s DOGE Assertion Elicits Response From Elon Musk
On episode #2307 of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast this month (April 2025), veteran UFC color commentator and podcast mogul Joe Rogan hosted fellow American comedian Tim Dillon. Speaking about supposedly clandestine government agencies, Rogan suggested that DOGE has uncovered large-scale misuse of government funds.
Rogan stated, “When it comes to this kind of stuff, like, we already know now because of DOGE that there was money that was going with no receipts; billions and billions of dollars. It was just flying out with no receipts. They have no idea where it went. And Elon openly said, ‘If this was a public company, it would be de-listed, and the people who ran it would go to prison.’ But because it’s the government, you’re like, ‘Oh. We did … We have no receipts.'”
Dillon then asked if he thought they’d bring charges against anyone accused of misappropriating government funds. Rogan replied by indicating that the names of all the people involved in allegedly mishandling the funds aren’t being officially disclosed to the public, or else there’d be widespread demands for them to be prosecuted. He said, “That’s the worry about disclosure. I think that’s what’s holding it back.”
A clip of Rogan’s aforementioned assessment was later posted to X. Musk, a South African-born U.S.-based tech billionaire who currently serves as U.S. President Donald Trump’s Senior Advisor, responded to the clip by seemingly agreeing with the UFC personality.
Issuing a one-word reaction, Musk wrote, “True.”

Rogan has hosted Musk on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast multiple times and has consistently maintained that the entrepreneur has been working to help America through DOGE. As reported by the New York Post earlier this year, the MMA personality hailed Musk as a “super genius.”
Furthermore, Rogan emphasized that DOGE’s crackdown on government agencies and their alleged corruption and inefficiencies would prove to be tremendously beneficial. The martial arts aficionado also alluded to Musk’s wealth and opined that the latter isn’t trying to steal other people’s money but is instead aiming to positively transform the U.S. government.
