Dustin Poirier’s Wife Jolie Has a Side-Splitting Reaction to ‘The Diamond’ Taking Up Red Light Therapy

Dustin Poirier’s wife, Jolie, has been with the former interim UFC Lightweight Champion since high school. They got married on Sept. 4, 2009, and welcomed a daughter, Parker Noelle, in 2016.

Despite being together for so long, funnily enough, Poirier’s wife doesn’t seem to understand her husband’s latest health habit.

Dustin Poirier has incorporated Red Light Therapy (RLT) into his life, but his wife doesn’t seem to know what it is.

Poirier’s wife shared a picture of her husband sleeping with an RLT lamp beside him on her Instagram story. “I’m not sure what the hell is even going on anymore,” Jolie wrote on the post, adding a side-splitting reaction.

RLT is a non-invasive treatment that uses low levels of Red light to reduce scars, wrinkles, and other skin ailments. It also accelerates the healing of wounds and tissue repair by promoting blood flow and reducing inflammation.

Poirier is not the only one who has incorporated RLT into their lives. RLT is part of Dana White’s “Superhuman Protocol,” which includes Pulse Electromagnetic Field (PMF) therapy, cold plunging, and Oxygen therapy.

As for his professional career, Poirier is looking to retire after one more fight. In his last fight, at UFC 302, “The Diamond” lost to Islam Makhachev in the fifth round via submission.

It was Poirier’s third crack at the undisputed Lightweight title. He had lost his previous two attempts, against Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 and Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 242, via submission.

Dustin Poirier Turns Matchmaker for Rising Lightweight Contender

Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett emerged as a lightweight contender at UFC 314, defeating Michael Chandler via a third-round knockout. In the Octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Pimblett called out Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Arman Tsarukyan.

Interestingly, “The Diamond” doesn’t think any of the above is the best matchup for Pimblett.

“For me as a fan, put him in there with Dan Hooker,” Poirier said. “That would be an incredible fight. You know, that’s a fun fight.”

“The buildup’s going to be fun. Dan’s going to stand and trade with him. Dan has good takedown defense and is good on the ground. That’s the fight, I think,” Poirier said in an interview with Mike Bohn for MMA Junkie.

Poirier had fought Hooker in the main event of UFC Vegas 4 and won via unanimous decision. In a blood-and-guts war, “The Diamond” prevailed despite being 2-0 in all three judges’ scorecards after the second round. The bout won the “Fight of the Night” bonus and was also in the running to win the UFC’s “Fight of the Year” Award.

Hooker was recently scheduled to fight Gaethje at UFC 313. Unfortunately, a hand injury forced his withdrawal. Rafael Fiziev replaced him on short notice and lost the fight by a unanimous decision.
