Dricus Du Plessis’ Coach Gives Calculated Response to Khamzat Chimaev’s ‘Bullsh*t’ Tweet

Dricus Du Plessis’ coach recently issued a reality check in response to Khamzat Chimaev’s recent deriding remarks about his student. Du Plessis’ trainer hopped on the bandwagon of schooling Chimaev after the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion’s initial retort on social media.

Du Plessis and Chimaev have been at loggerheads for a while. Their current beef stemmed from the Chechen’s response to the rumor that the South African broke his leg and pulled out of their fight.

Dricus Du Plessis’ Coach Rates Khamzat Chimaev Undeserving of a Title Shot

Khamzat Chimaev has been undefeated throughout his pro-MMA career. He boasts a 14-0 record with dominant victories over all his UFC rivals, including noteworthy names like Robert Whittaker, Kamaru Usman, and others.

Currently, the Chechen fighter stands as the most probable contender for the next shot at Dricus Du Plessis’ UFC middleweight gold.

The UFC brass has yet to announce the timeline for this eagerly awaited encounter. But a recent X update from “Borz” showed that he has already started jibing at his next potential rival.

Chimaev’s post read, “This guy [Dricus Du Plessis is the] biggest bull**it.” It came after the report that Du Plessis had allegedly withdrawn from their UFC 317 fight surfaced. He has since confirmed that he isn’t injured and the fight was never official.

‘Stillknocks’ clapped back at his potential rival, comparing their activity rates in the UFC. The post showed that he had shown up and completed his last six fights without pullouts. On the contrary, Chimaev’s record exhibited that he had pulled out of three fights in the last two and a half years. He is also notoriously well-known for missing weights.

Du Plessis’ coach, Morne Visser, recently appeared in a Submission Radio interview addressing Chimaev’s comments. He said, “It is actually ridiculous how many times he [Chimaev] pulled out [of fights]. And then if you look at just his last six fights, or his last six supposed fights, he pulled out of three of them.”

Visser also diminished Chimaev’s credibility behind his victories in the three fights he had shown up for.

[Chimaev] fought Holland, where he was overweight,” Visser added. “He fought Kamaru [Usman] on a 10-day notice, and I think Kamaru gave him a proper run for his money [despite accepting the fight] on a 10-day notice.”

Subsequently, Visser rated Chimaev an undeserving contender for a shot at the middleweight gold.

He said,  “His win over Robert [Whittaker] was also kind of ridiculous because Robert went in that fight with broken teeth, which Dricus did. Dricus broke his jaw and teeth. So, what has he done? I don’t even think he deserves a title shot. So, he shouldn’t say anything.”

It’s quite apparent that things are starting to get heated between Chimaev and Du Plessis, with the latter’s coach involved in their feud. However, all this is expected to add another layer of excitement to their eagerly awaited matchup.
