In a Mockery-Laden Comment, Dillon Danis Lists 5 Reasons Why Julio César Chávez Jr. Is the ‘Perfect Jake Paul Opponent’

Dillon Danis recently added a new chapter to his rivalry with Jake Paul by naming Julio César Chávez Jr. as his choice for “The Problem Child’s” next opponent. Danis also sarcastically presented a collection of reasons for counting the 39-year-old as a deserving rival to Paul.

A large chunk of the boxing fanbase has refused to accept Paul as a credible contender on account of his choice of rivals. Paul advanced to facing regular fighters after having two of his initial pro-boxing encounters against non-regular boxers. But instead of fighting regular contenders, the Ohio native elected to build his record by fighting retired UFC fighters inside the boxing ring.

Paul did move on to lock horns with regular boxers following his encounters with retired UFC fighters and influencers, but this time, the boxing community accused him of selecting low-caliber rivals like Andre August and Ryan Bourland. “The Problem Child” also turned a massive part of the community against him by pulling 58-year-old Mike Tyson out of his retirement for his showdown on Nov. 15, 2024.

Several recent reports, including an Instagram post that revealed that Paul is set to face the 39-year-old former WBC middleweight champion, Chávez, for his next fight. Danis viewed this as the perfect chance to fire another shot at Paul.

“El Jefe” took to the comments section of the post to highlight five points related to Chávez, which make him eligible to be picked by Paul as his rival. Danis mentioned:

    • “Chávez is inactive
    • Chávez has just left rehab
    • Chávez robbed Uriah Hall
    • Chávez lost to [Anderson] Silva
    • Chávez is 40″

Paul and his team had been negotiating his next encounter against the unified super middleweight champion, Canelo Álvarez. However, the talks related to the fight fell flat after Álvarez joined hands with the head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh.

Paul came up with an array of disses for Álvarez and Al-Sheikh following the failure of negotiations about the fight. But they couldn’t help him get his job done as Álvarez is currently scheduled to face William Scull for the undisputed super-middleweight titles on May 3.
