MMA fans recently chose to fire shots at the UFC CEO, Dana White, following one of his Instagram live sessions. White announced the fight card for an upcoming UFC Fight Night event scheduled for June 14 in Atlanta.
However, fans were upset that the 55-year-old ended his session before announcing one of their most anticipated clashes.
MMA Fans Scathed Dana White for Neglecting the Community’s Wish
Dana White has built the UFC’s brand on its endeavors to deliver what the fans want, among other key factors. The UFC CEO has detailed his intentions to make fights based on fan preferences multiple times to date.
Dana White and Co. don’t have a pre-determined schedule or process for announcing their upcoming encounters. The authorities reveal the timeline and fight cards of UFC events during the broadcast of the preceding events. White also announces plenty of them — Fight Nights and PPVs — through his social media accounts.
The Las Vegas resident recently resorted to his preferred method to announce the main and co-main events of the upcoming UFC Fight Night event scheduled for June 14.
In one of his recent Instagram live sessions, White revealed that the former welterweight king, Kamaru Usman, will lock horns with the No. 6-ranked contender, Joaquin Buckley, in the main event of the Atlanta-based event.
He also disclosed that the co-main event of UFC Atlanta would feature a women’s flyweight clash between the former strawweight queen, Rose Namajunas, and the No. 12-ranked Miranda Maverick.
A recent X update from @HappyPunch highlighted the final seconds of White’s Instagram live, with their caption revealing that the community wanted him to announce the eagerly awaited lightweight title clash between Islam Makhachev and Ilia Topuria.
But alas, White ended his live session without mentioning the Makhachev vs. Topuria fight.

Most fans were gutted to watch White end his sessions without an update about the Makhachev vs. Topuria clash.
One fan took to the comments section and derided the UFC CEO. His words read, “This mf is toying with the whole MMA community. Announce it already, Dana.”
A second fan mentioned, “Bruh I’ma find this man and I’ma OIL HIM UP for this shit“. Another stated, “ANNOUNCE THE FIGHT ALREADY BALDY (Dana White). 9 weeks until international fight week”.
A fourth lamented, “The old Dana would’ve announced it before they signed.” One user expressed, “Bros getting too cheeky.”
The UFC fanbase currently seems pretty confident about the materialization of the Makhachev vs. Topuria fight. However, nothing can be documented until White and his team make an official announcement.
According to the latest reports, both Makhachev and Topuria are currently in fight camp. However, it has not been confirmed whether they are preparing to fight each other.
