Conor McGregor recently reignited interest in a potential matchup with Michael Chandler, who was previously slated to face him at UFC 303. However, fans appear largely uninterested in the callout.
McGregor hasn’t competed since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, where he suffered a devastating leg injury that brought the bout to an early end.
MMA Fans React to Conor McGregor’s Callout of Michael Chandler
After the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler didn’t materialize at UFC 303, all hope was lost that it would ever happen. However, McGregor seems to be angling for it to happen as he called out Chandler on X, formerly Twitter.
After WrestleMania 41, which was held at the Allegiant Stadium, concluded, McGregor had proclaimed: “I’ll only come back to a stadium”. He followed it up with a callout: “IRON MIKE CHANDLER. Unfinished business”.

Fight fans don’t seem to believe that McGregor will ever fight Chandler. After all, they had seen it over and over again.
“Yearly rage bait by Connor,” a fan wrote.
“Yea we’re good thnx,” a second fan commented.
“We don’t care anymore,” another fan wrote.

Some fans threw shade at McGregor’s callout. “He’s seen the Ls Mike has taken that’s why,” a fan commented.
“Feels like Ken Shamrock vs old Tito,” a fan made a hilarious comparison while another one wrote: “Why fighting Chandler. It’s like fighting Ferguson.”

Chandler, too, seemed interested as he replied: “Unfinished Business Loading…”. Moreover, he seemingly agreed with McGregor’s choice of venue as he posted a picture of an Allegiant Air airplane on X.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen whether the UFC is on board with it, particularly after what has transpired in the past.
Conor McGregor Lost a Huge Sum Betting on Michael Chandler
Preluding UFC 314, Conor McGregor shared via social media that he is keeping a close eye on the PPV’s featured bout, Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett. McGregor also revealed that he placed a $500k bet on Chandler to win via knockout. If victorious, “The Notorious” would’ve bagged a whopping $2.5 Million.
Unfortunately for McGregor, Pimblett won the fight via knockout in the third round. After he lost the bet, the Irishman shared a social media post on X, claiming that he did think Pimblett would’ve won the fight. However, his history with Chandler forced him to take a risk.
McGregor praised Pimblett for the victory, but pointed out that he has a long way to go before becoming elite. “The Notorious” also made an interesting statement, claiming that the fighters in the lightweight division are woeful but equal. He also boasted about his wealth by mentioning that $500k is nothing to him.
