However, during the post-event press conference at UFC 316, White clarified that he is still the one promoting the superfight, dismissing all the rumors.
“I’m gonna tell you what’s awesome, man,” White said. “So, there’s a lot of f**ked up things about boxing. But they don’t say sh**. I mean, nobody talks. It’s the most amazing thing. If we sign a deal, I can f**king get up my phone, ‘Hey, we just f**king [signed a deal] …’ ‘Cause 90,000 people will be out there talking about it. These guys don’t talk. Um, I’m promoting the fight.”
Moments later, Alalshikh took to X and shared White’s UFC 316 clip, confirming that the UFC CEO will indeed promote the Álvarez vs. Crawford fight.
