Tyreek Hill is one of many to take to social media as Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hill didn’t hold back as the Miami Dolphins received Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick in return, but it might not be the type of trade that Hill wanted to see as the 2025 season nears.
Tyreek Hill Shares Empty House Gif After Ramsey Trade
The Dolphins and Ramsey had “mutually agreed” to search for a trade partner, which took them roughly two months to find. Even though the Dolphins had signed Ramsey to a three-year deal worth more than $70 million, Ramsey is getting a $1.5 million raise as a member of the Steelers.
Now that the Steelers control Ramsey’s contract, the Dolphins can focus elsewhere. They’re still paying Hill $90 million from a restricted three-year deal signed in 2024, in which he is guaranteed $65 million. NFL fans are questioning who won the Ramsey trade. Fitzpatrick might not be as talented as Ramsey, but he’s a player with a hefty four-year, $73 million contract.

Hill’s reaction shows it all, as the Dolphins also traded tight end Jonnu Smith as part of the Ramsey deal. Miami sent two players and a draft pick in return for just one player and a pick of their own. It’s clear that Hill is feeling lonely as he lost not only one of, if not the best, defensive players on the team, but also another receiving threat for Tua Tagovailoa.
The 31-year-old receiver’s numbers were down significantly last season. He spent a chunk of the season without Tagovailoa, which resulted in his lowest number of receiving yards since 2019, when he played in five fewer games. Even in that 2019 season, he still scored more touchdowns, as the six he put up in 2024 tied his career low, which came in his 2016 rookie season.
It’s hard to say if this Dolphins team will make the playoffs. They were just 8-9 last season, as the eight-time Pro Bowler already has a Super Bowl win (54) under his belt. After losing in the Wild Card in both 2022 and 2023, the Dolphins find themselves in a similar situation to the Steelers, who are addressing the problems in front of them.
Mike Tomlin’s squad added Ramsey and Aaron Rodgers earlier this month. Even though it might be the final year of his NFL career, the four-time MVP brings a lot to the table as the Dolphins and Steelers will head to head on the December 15 edition of Monday Night Football.
