After months of speculation, the 2025 NFL Draft class is just days away from finding out which team they’ll each be representing come September. Among them is Penn State tight end prospect Tyler Warren, who is expected to be taken in the first half of Round 1, potentially even among the top five picks.
A recent article from PFSN’s Brandon Austin recently overviewed the potential landing spots of some of the draft’s top offensive prospects, and Warren’s name made the list.

Tyler Warren Linked With Two Teams in Recent PFSN Article
Indianapolis Colts
According to the article, two teams in particular stand out as potential landing spots for Warren. The Indianapolis Colts have long been linked with a move for a top tight end talent. There is a belief that the team attempted to trade up for Brock Bowers in 2024, but were unsuccessful. This year, Indianapolis been heavily linked with Warren.
“The Colts’ offense lacked consistency in 2024, finishing 21st in EPA per play (-0.04) and 19th in points per drive (1.91). While instability at quarterback played a major role, the team needs to surround Anthony Richardson with more support in order to properly evaluate his long-term potential.
“Indianapolis already has a promising trio of wide receivers in Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Alec Pierce, but the tight end room remains underwhelming. That’s where Tyler Warren comes in. He checks every box for a modern NFL tight end — size, athleticism, blocking ability, and pass-catching skills — and has the potential to make an immediate impact in both the passing game and run game.”
New York Jets
But, as was the case a year ago, the Colts may not get the chance to draft the best tight end on the board. If Austin’s article is to be believed, the New York Jets may have already snapped up the playmaker long before the Colts are on the clock.
“The New York Jets have had an interesting offseason. The failed Aaron Rodgers experiment is officially over, and Justin Fields is on track to be the team’s starting quarterback in 2025. There are still concerns about whether or not Fields is a starting NFL QB, but in order to make an informed conclusion, New York has to give him the best chance to succeed.
“After moving on from Davante Adams this offseason, the Jets are left with Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall as the only weapons who keep opposing coaches up at night. The passing offense was already below average in 2024 under Rodgers, finishing 20th in EPA per dropback and 21st in pass success rate. There’s a massive hole at tight end, and Tyler Warren is a dynamic playmaker at the position who could become a go-to option for Fields.”
Latest PFSN Mock Draft Sends Warren to New York
And it’s New York that wins out in the latest seven-round Mock Draft from PFSN’s Ian Cummings, which projects Warren to be a key player from Day 1.
“The New York Jets used free agency well to address holes on the defensive side of the ball, but the playmaking talent core on offense needs an early-round infusion. Thinking about where offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand is coming from, a versatile tight end makes sense.
“Tyler Warren isn’t quite the fluid, all-encompassing route runner that Sam LaPorta is (Colston Loveland fits that description better), but Warren’s universal usage versatility and hyper-elite clutch gene would make him an instant target funnel for Justin Fields.”
Whether it’s New York, Indianapolis, or somewhere else, Warren will be expected to hit the ground running in September, given how high he’ll likely be drafted.
