Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is one of the best and most popular pass-catchers in NFL history. He was a fan favorite before dating pop star Taylor Swift, but there’s no doubt that his popularity skyrocketed since they got together in 2023.
After making their relationship public, the couple hasn’t shied away from attending events together or sharing some public displays of affection. While their public dates were less frequent this offseason, Kelce recently revealed some people had been suggesting that they were looking for attention.
Kelce took the moment to fire back at the critics and reiterated that they were just simply trying to enjoy their lives.

Travis Kelce Undeterred By Criticism of His Relationship With Taylor Swift
Kelce was speaking during an appearance on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast when a host said that he and Swift had been all over the media for attending games or concerts together. The tight end gleefully admitted this and used the moment to respond to the criticism.
“We’re having fun with it, (we’re) being a couple,” Kelce said. “It gets thrown out there that we’re trying to seek attention now and then, and we’re just enjoying life, having fun, going to hockey games, kind of introducing her to some more of the sports world that she hasn’t really. [Stanley Cup] was fun, man. That was a hell of a game.”
Kelce was referring to Game 4 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers at Amerant Bank Arena in South Florida on June 12. It is wrong to accuse them of seeking attention when they are already so popular and would prefer not to be recognized by anyone on their outings. Of course, that’s virtually impossible.
Following the Stanley Cup, the couple was spotted together at the Tight End University, where they made their first red carpet appearance together. Swift also delivered a short and electrifying performance afterward at the “Tight Ends & Friends” concert, an event aimed at raising more than $1 million for charity and hosted by the “Bussin’ With the Boys” duo, Taylor Lewan and Will Compton.

The show featured performances from several artists, including Jordan Davis and Chase Rice. Swift closed the night by joining country star Kane Brown onstage for her 2014 hit “Shake It Off” with a source telling People “the crowd lost their minds” as she started singing.
Meanwhile, Kelce is coming off a down year in 2024 that saw the Chiefs fall to the Philadelphia Eagles in one of the most one-sided Super Bowls in recent memory. It could potentially be his last or penultimate season with Kansas City, and he will be looking to stave off further regression on the way back to another deep playoff run.
