PFN Top 100 Free Agents: Which Dallas Cowboys Made the 2024 List?

The Dallas Cowboys have four players on PFN's Top 100 free agents list. How high do Tyron Smith, Tony Pollard, and others rank?

NFL free agency is approaching fast, with it being just about a month out. As it draws closer, the Dallas Cowboys still have plenty of unanswered questions. While they are not known to be big players in free agency when it comes to outside free agents, they do show a willingness to pay and keep their own.

With them having four players on PFN’s Top 100 list of 2024 free agents, they have some tough decisions to make as they head into the new league year.

Dallas Cowboys Free Agents

Tyron Smith, OT

  • Overall Ranking: 29
  • Positional Ranking: 2
  • 2023 Stats: 13 Games (13 starts), three total penalties, one sack allowed
  • Spotrac Market Valuation: One year, $7.4 million
  • Catalina’s Take: The first Cowboys name that pops up on the list at No. 29 is the veteran offensive tackle Smith. When it comes to Smith and the questions surrounding him, it is never about ability but about availability. Smith has been unable to complete a full season since 2015, and his injuries have been a constant source of management to get him on the field on Sundays. Despite that, when he is on the field, he is still the same old reliable. The Cowboys should do what they can to keep him in the fold for 2024.

Tony Pollard, RB

  • Overall Ranking: 41
  • Positional Ranking: 4
  • 2023 Stats: 17 Games (17 starts), 1,005 rushing yards on 252 rushing attempts and six touchdowns
  • Spotrac Market Valuation: Two years, $13 million
  • Catalina’s Take: 2023 wasn’t the type of year either Pollard or the Cowboys had hoped it would be for the running back. He still had over 1,000 rushing yards and six touchdowns, but it lacked the usual burst the Cowboys have become accustomed to seeing from him. With the team still carrying dead money from Ezekiel Elliott’s departure last season into 2024, they may not be inclined to also give Pollard a new deal as well. If he is willing to take a one-year deal with reasonable money he may be around once again, but there is a real chance the Cowboys choose to reset the position via the draft.

Stephon Gilmore, CB

  • Overall Ranking: 49
  • Positional Ranking: 5
  • 2023 Stats: 17 Games (17 starts), two interceptions, 62 solo tackles, and 50 receptions allowed on 91 targets
  • Spotrac Market Valuation: One year, $11.1 million
  • Catalina’s Take: When Trevon Diggs went down with a torn ACL in the first month of the season, Gilmore was asked to step up and be CB1 and did so admirably. While Gilmore was brought in to be a complement to Diggs and make an excellent 1-2 punch, he had to do what he has done most of his career and step up to be the leader of the group in his absence. It’s clear that Gilmore isn’t quite in his prime right now, but he was still a productive and positive member of the Cowboys’ secondary in 2023. With the emergence of DaRon Bland and the awaited return of Diggs, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to explore a one-year deal with Gilmore to try and run it back as they intended originally.

Tyler Biadasz, C

  • Overall Ranking: 90
  • Positional Ranking: 4
  • 2023 Stats: 16 Games (16 starts), three total penalties, three sacks allowed
  • Spotrac Market Valuation: N/A
  • Catalina’s Take: The case of Biadasz is an interesting one. He has been productive at times, but it feels like he took a step back in 2023. While continuity on the offensive line is important, and you can certainly do far worse at the center position than Biadasz, one may wonder if the Cowboys might ultimately let him test the open market as they look to upgrade the position via the draft. He could be back if the money is right, but with the Cowboys, that’s always a huge question mark as they like to win the deal more than probably any other team in the league. Gauge his interest and bring him back if it makes sense — if not, no sweat for the Cowboys as they turn the page.
