As Cam Ward continues to be seen as the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, could Tennessee snag a former teammate of his, too? There’s no guarantee that Ward will be the top pick until his name is called in Green Bay, Wis. Still, many believe the Miami product will be the first player off the board. The Titans have seven picks before the first round ends. That gives them plenty of chances to fill key holes and add weapons for their quarterback — whoever they are.

Cam Ward, Kyle Williams Could Reunite With Tennessee Titans
The 6-foot-2 Ward spent two seasons at Washington State before transferring to Miami. During his time with the Cougars, Ward built a strong connection with wide receiver Kyle Williams. After Ward’s departure, Williams broke out, finishing the season with more than 1,000 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns. Now, NFL insider Adam Schefter sees a shot at a reunion in a big way.
Washington St. WR Kyle Williams is visiting today with the Tennessee Titans. Williams was former teammates with Cam Ward, who is tracking to be Tennessee’s No. 1 overall pick. Tennesse’s OC Nick Holz was also Williams’ OC at UNLV. Now Williams could be in play to team up again…

With so many connections between the two, it makes sense that the Titans are watching the 29-touchdown receiver.
Williams’ explosive season and strong combine showing have pushed his draft stock into the fourth-round range, with a shot at sneaking into the third. If the Titans draft Ward, there’s a good chance they’ll also consider taking Williams.
What Makes Williams a Key Talent Even Without Ward?
The 6-foot receiver may not tower over defenders, but his game speaks for itself. He ran a blazing 4.4 in the 40-yard dash, and his acceleration makes him a nightmare on screenplays. The Inglewood, California, native has the kind of first-step burst that catches defenders flat-footed.
A fair comparison is Wan’Dale Robinson of the New York Giants. While Robinson is smaller, both are dangerous from the slot and rely on speed and quickness. If Williams builds on his 70-catch senior year, he could become a real weapon at the next level.
In a recent 7-round 2025 NFL mock draft by PFSN’s Reese Decker, the Titans are projected to take Ward with the top pick. Not long ago, Penn State’s Abdul Carter looked like the likely No. 1. Now, Decker sees no better fit for Tennessee than the Miami signal-caller. He breaks down why Ward is such a unique talent.
“He boasts a strong arm, exceptional pocket presence, and the ability to deliver accurate throws with both touch and velocity when he has a solid base. His ability to throw from multiple body angles and excel in pull-to-run or pull-to-throw situations makes him a dual-threat weapon. Ward’s dynamic skill set could provide an immediate boost to one of the NFL’s most lackluster offenses.”
Time will tell if Ward, Williams, or both end up in Tennessee. In the meantime, Titans fans can start dreaming about a possible reunion on the field at Nissan Stadium.
