Nearly every 2025 NFL mock draft has Cam Ward, the standout quarterback who spent the past year boosting his draft stock at the University of Miami, going first overall. Most analysts agree that Ward is the top quarterback in this year’s class and will go No. 1 overall. If that holds, he’ll likely land with the Tennessee Titans. At Miami’s recent Pro Day, Ward put the Titans on notice.
Titans executives were in attendance to see Ward launch an especially impressive throw. The quarterback looked their way and said something. When asked about it, he told reporters, “I’m solidifying it today,” referring to his status as the No. 1 pick. He added that he made sure they heard it.

Titans HC Brian Callahan Appreciates Cam Ward’s Confidence
This past weekend, all NFL executives and head coaches were in West Palm Beach, Florida, for the NFL owners’ meetings. While it might sound like a beach trip, they were there to vote on rule changes and handle league business.
It’s also the media’s first real shot at speaking with team staff since the end of the season. That included Titans head coach Brian Callahan, who was asked about Ward’s bold comments at Miami’s Pro Day. According to a post by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo on X, it left an impression — and Callahan took notice.
“#Titans HC Brian Callahan on Cam Ward telling the team in the middle of his pro day he was ‘solidifying’ his status as first overall: ‘I like confidence. I think that’s a good thing. When you’re in the conversation for the No. 1 pick there’s a lot that comes with it. To have fun with that is a good thing,’” posted Garafolo.
PFSN’s latest mock draft has Ward going to the Titans at No. 1, while some believe Tennessee could trade down with a team like the New York Giants. Most think they’ll stand pat and draft Ward.
The Titans’ offense desperately needs a spark, and drafting the top quarterback in the 2025 class could do just that. PFSN ranked them 27th in their 2024 Offense+ metric with a D grade.
Tennessee has been searching for a reliable quarterback since 2022. They’ve had five different starters, including Will Levis, who’s likely headed back to a backup role. None showed consistent play, as reflected in PFSN’s QB+ metric. Of 39 starters in 2024, Levis was ranked 34th with a D- grade.
Levis dealt with a knee injury, which gave longtime Steelers backup Mason Rudolph a shot. Rudolph finished a bit higher, ranking 26th with a D+, but he didn’t do enough to stay. He’s since returned to Pittsburgh.
While both quarterbacks struggled behind a weak offensive line, the criticism hasn’t been unfair. The Titans have made moves to improve the line this offseason, including the signing of Dan Moore Jr.
Fans are hoping a better offensive line and a new quarterback like Ward can finally get the Titans’ offense going in 2025.
