Who Plays on Thursday Night Football Tonight?
- Teams: Dallas Cowboys vs. Seattle Seahawks
- Location AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
The Dallas Cowboys host Thursday Night Football looking to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL. Winners of three in a row, and with quarterback Dak Prescott inserting himself into the MVP conversation, the ‘Boys have been rolling through opponents.
When Prescott talked about the MVP chatter, he wouldn’t take the bait and made it a focus to keep the main thing, the main thing.
“It means I’m playing well. Simple as that. Not really (that important). I’m about one goal and it’s a big team goal and I know if my name’s in there that means we’re playing well, so that’s great,” he said. “But at the end of the day, we’re just trying to build.
“I mean, being eight years into this thing, it’s about building and building and making sure we’re getting better and better each and every week and getting hot right when we need to be.”
However, there seem to be some questions about the legitimacy due to the quality of the opponent, and a convincing win against the Seattle Seahawks could help their case.
Prescott was also asked this week about the level of competition and how it hasn’t been the cream of the crop in the NFL. While he acknowledged that fact, he knows the Cowboys always bring out the best in their opponents.
“The teams we’ve played, the records haven’t been great. But I can promise you, everybody, that we play, we do get their best shot.”
Dallas has an opportunity to keep the good times rolling, as well as solidify any doubts onlookers may have about just how good their team actually is on Thursday night.
As for Seattle, every game from here on out is important. A tough NFC West division crown is slipping away with the San Francisco 49ers taking control. While that remains the focus, every win counts if they want to keep pace in a tight NFC Wild Card race as well.
The Seahawks come into the game banged up, with the understanding that starting running back Kenneth Walker III is set to miss another game with an oblique injury after being listed as doubtful on the injury report.
It will be on the shoulders of quarterback Geno Smith and Seattle’s assortment of pass catchers to carry the load on offense, while their talented secondary will hope to contain Dallas and its potent offensive attack.
Stopping short of calling it a must-win is fair, but Seattle comes into Week 13 knowing it needs a victory if it wants to continue down a favorable path.
Two teams with a lot to prove and a lot on the line will surely make for an entertaining matchup in prime time.
