Hosts of ‘Nothing Major Show’ Reflect Their Thoughts on Novak Djokovic’s Continuation of His Legacy

Novak Djokovic has established himself as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He has clinched 101 ATP singles titles, including 24 major titles, 40 Masters titles, seven ATP Finals trophies, and two Olympic medals.

He clinched two ATP singles titles in his 2025 season, the Hellenic Championship and the Gonet Geneva Open, after surpassing Hubert Hurkacz in the final round. During the recent episode of “Nothing Major Podcast,” the former professional ATP player Sam Querry shared his thoughts on Djokovic getting closer to Swiss legend Roger Federer’s record of 103 ATP singles titles and that he hopes to achieve more to cement his legacy.

He added, “One more thing about Novak (Djokovic) before we move on. That was his 101st title. Fed (Roger Federer) has 103 titles. I think he wants to pass Federer for most titles or just past Federer. I kind of starting to think that Novak wants that record at least to jump Roger because everyone thought Roger, Rafa (Rafael Nadal), Novak. It’s the ongoing debate.”

Whereas the winner of 17 doubles titles and four singles titles, Jack Sock, added, “I honestly think, like winning Athens, I think he would take a lot of pride in winning two, three more 250s, even to pass Roger. Just because the big three debate and everything is for whatever reason, people still say Roger, even though I mean stats.”

He further said, “Novak wants to cement himself. So, if that’s another thing that he can tick off, check another box to make him, in people’s eyes, the best player of all time, then I think he’s going to do it.”

The Belgrade, Serbia, native had qualified for the 2025 ATP Finals but withdrew from the season-ending championships due to a shoulder injury. His withdrawal allowed Italian Lorenzo Musetti to compete in the tournament for the first time in his career, and he will take Djokovic’s place in the Jimmy Connors group.
