Fifth-seeded Madison Keys will take on the 12th-seeded Diana Shnaider in the third round of the Brisbane International. Shnaider had a modest 28-25 win-loss record in 2025, with the Russian player winning a title at the Monterrey Open. Keys vs. Shnaider Head-to-Head

Keys has a 2-0 head-to-head record against Shnaider. The two players met for the first time at the 2024 Miami Open, where the American won easily, 6-2, 6-4.

Their most recent meeting was a much closer contest at Queens last year, but the Australian Open champ won the match 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.

    Keys vs. Shnaider Prediction

In her previous match against Kessler, Keys won 69 percent of the service points and 44 percent of the return points. The second-serve stats were the key factor in the American’s win, as she won over 60 percent of the second-serve points while serving, and also was able to attack her opponent’s second serve in return games, winning over 40 percent of the second-serve return points.

Against Potapova, Shnaider won 80 percent of her first-serve points but was a bit susceptible behind her second serve. This saw her face seven break points, but the Russian was able to keep calm during the pressure points and save all but one break point. On the return, she won 71 percent of the points on her opponent’s second serve, converting five of the nine break point opportunities she got.

Keys had a 24-8 win-loss record on hard courts last year. Apart from her victory in Melbourne, she also won the title in Adelaide and reached the semifinals at Indian Wells. Overall, the American player has reached eight hard-court finals in her career, winning five titles.

On the other hand, Shnaider had a 16-16 win-loss record on hard courts last year, which included the title at the Monterrey Open along with a semifinal finish at the Ningbo Open. Overall, she has reached four hard-court finals in her career, winning three titles.

Keys is the favorite to win the upcoming match, as the American is preparing for her title defense in Melbourne and will be motivated to make a deep run at Brisbane. She also has a favorable head-to-head against her opponent, which should help her get through to the next round.

Pick: Keys to win in straight sets
