A new social media channel featuring Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu, and other athletes was recently launched, specifically targeting female audiences. However, the content of this channel was criticized by fans, who found it “degrading.”
A TikTok channel named Sky Sports Halo was recently created to engage and entertain female sports fans. According to the official Sky Group website, this new social media channel serves as a platform for women to enjoy and explore content from various sports.

The channel was marketed to allow female fans to follow tennis, soccer, boxing, F1, and other sports through trend-driven and relatable content. However, the videos posted on this social media channel did not resonate with fans; many felt that the attempt to appeal to the female gaze through the use of pink cutesy fonts and trendy language was “patronizing.”
Reacting to the content, fans took to social media to share their opinions. One fan stated that the content shared by the channel was “degrading” to the female audience.
“The contents are straight up degrading mainly female audience and tricking them on how they’re the right place for some ‘pop-base’-like trends in sports when in fact it is not and very much wrong in all aspects. Who tf thought this was a good idea,” a fan posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Another fan remarked that the videos were “genuinely the worst thing” they had ever seen, describing the content as “patronizing and undermining.”
“No word of exaggeration this is genuinely the worst thing I’ve ever seen. So incredibly patronizing and undermining, even just to call it “the lil sis of Sky Sports”. Most of the videos have already been deleted but I can’t imagine it’ll be long before the entire account stops,” a fan wrote.

Here are some other fan reactions:
“One of the most insanely patronising and misogynistic activations i’ve seen from a brand. Your female audience has increased so much and become way more visible but this is exactly how to minimise us. making it about ships and matcha and hot girl walks, do better,” a fan posted.
“They could’ve made a channel dedicated to women’s sports often overlooked in the world of men and yet,” a fan wrote.
“”Championing female athletes” and their first post includes a man,” a fan posted.

“Oh look silly women need sparkly pink font and tiktok trends to enjoy sports, we can put them over there so men can have their serious sports coverage. F**k off,” a fan wrote.
On the tennis side of things, Raducanu concluded her 2025 season after competing at the Ningbo Open, where she faced wild card Zhu Lin in the first round and lost with a score of 6-3, 4-6, 1-6.
Meanwhile, Sinner and Alcaraz are currently in Turin for the 2025 ATP Finals. Both players have reached the semifinals, with the Italian set to face Alex de Minaur and the World No. 1 scheduled to take on either Alexander Zverev or Félix Auger-Aliassime.
