Iga Swiatek Can’t Hide Her Joy As She Reunites With Her Father for Italian Getaway Amid Hectic Schedule

World No. 2 Iga Świątek recently offered fans a glimpse into her time away from the court, amid her frequent concerns about the demanding tour schedule. The Polish star was seen enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of Matera, Italy, alongside her father, Tomasz Świątek.

Świątek has emerged as one of the prominent voices on tour, often highlighting the strain of the packed tennis calendar. Her Italian getaway could be a much-needed chance to recharge and find fresh inspiration.

How Did Iga Świątek Enjoy Her Recent Getaway in Italy With Father?

Świątek’s recent Asian Swing proved to be a mix of contrasting fortunes. The World No. 2 began brilliantly by winning the WTA 500 title in Seoul, but struggled to sustain that momentum in the tournaments that followed.

Świątek bowed out in the fourth round of the China Open, falling to the USA’s Emma Navarro, and later reached the quarterfinals at the Wuhan Open before losing to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini. The World No. 2 will undoubtedly look to bounce back, but a brief respite may have been precisely what she needed to regain her spark.

The six-time Major champion recently savored her time in Matera, with the serene landscapes perfectly reflected in the photos she shared on Instagram. Adding to the joy, her father, Tomasz, accompanied her, and the duo even captured a memorable mirror selfie against the picturesque backdrop.

“Quality time 😇,” the Pole captioned.

Świątek has been unflinching in calling out the hectic tour schedule. Most recently, during the China Open, the former World No. 1 admitted the season is “long” and “exhausting,” and hinted that sitting out certain mandatory events might be necessary for her well-being.

Even as she soaks in Italy, Świątek is resolute about her 2025 swansong. The Pole recently confirmed she will don Team Poland’s colors for the Billie Jean King Cup qualifier, scheduled from 14–16 November.

“See you in Gorzów Wielkopolski! I am happy to officially share this news – I will be playing in the Billie Jean King Cup playoffs. It will be a great end to the season – playing for my country and in my country, in front of Polish fans. In a team that will certainly give its all. I hope to see you there!” She wrote in an Instagram post.

The Billie Jean King Cup play-offs will run from November 14 to November 16 and will be held across seven host nations in a round-robin format with three teams per group. Group B’s action lands in Poland at Arena Gorzów, with hosts Poland taking on Romania and New Zealand on indoor hard courts.
