Świątek received a bye to the second round of the tournament due to her seeding and breezed past Marie Bouzková with a score of 6-1, 6-1 to book her place in the third round. Bencic, on the other hand, beat Donna Vekić 6-2, 6-2 in the opening round before receiving a bye to the third round after her second-round opponent Elise Mertens retired due to a back injury.

Świątek will enter the match as the overwhelming favorite to win given her current form, head-to-head lead, and the fact that she hasn’t lost a match to the Swiss since the 2021 US Open. That said, Bencic on her day is capable of giving the Pole a run for her money.

The Pole has produced 21 aces during this period but has also served 25 double-faults. Bencic’s game has a lot of variety, something she will have to make the most out of if she is to give Świątek a run for her money. However, given the Pole’s quality and current form, it seems very unlikely for the Swiss to bag a win.
