Grigor Dimitrov Stay Loyal To Girlfriend Eiza González As He Reveals His Movie Choice While Keeping Details Under Wraps

Grigor Dimitrov has expressed heartfelt admiration for his girlfriend, Mexican actress Eiza González, praising her upcoming film during a lighthearted moment at the Paris Masters. Though he kept most details tightly under wraps, the 34-year-old couldn’t help but gush about how impressed he was after getting a sneak peek of the project.

What Did Grigor Dimitrov Say About Eiza González’s New Film?

The revelation came as part of a candid video segment filmed at the recently concluded Paris Masters, where several ATP players, including Jannik Sinner, Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, Lorenzo Musetti, and Carlos Alcaraz, were asked about their favorite movie of the year.

Dimitrov mentioned that he had recently watched González’s upcoming film, calling it one of his favorite viewing experiences of the year. Choosing not to reveal its title or plot, he simply noted that he wasn’t “allowed to say the name or anything,” leaving fans intrigued about what’s next for the Hollywood star known for roles in ‘Baby Driver’ and ‘Fountain of Youth.’

“Actually I saw the upcoming movie of my girlfriend. I’m not allowed to say the name or anything, but that was I would say like one of my favorite things to watch this year.”

What Led Dimitrov to End His 2025 Season After Returning From Injury?

Dimitrov’s comments came amid a bittersweet chapter in his professional journey. After battling a pectoral muscle injury that forced him to retire mid-match in the fourth round of Wimbledon against eventual champion Jannik Sinner, Dimitrov made a cautious return at the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris.

He opened with a decisive 7-6(5), 6-1 victory over home favorite Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, marking his 13th appearance at the event and his first competitive outing in nearly four months. However, just as momentum seemed to be building, he withdrew from his scheduled second-round clash against 11th seed Daniil Medvedev, confirming that he would shut down his 2025 season entirely to focus on full recovery.

The former world No. 3 later took to Instagram to share an encouraging message with his supporters, clarifying that his brief appearance in Paris was a test run to evaluate his physical condition. “It’s been a successful week in Paris, and I’m proud to be able to assess my condition and to prove that my efforts and those of my team are in the right direction,” Dimitrov wrote in his Instagram story.

“After performing competitively for some days, I felt confident it was the right time to stop. Excited for the challenges and opportunities 2026 will bring! Thank you all for the warm welcome back, love and smiles!”

Dimitrov also joined forces with Nicolas Mahut for the doubles event, marking the Frenchman’s farewell appearance on tour. The pair fell short in the opening round against Hugo Nys and Édouard Roger-Vasselin.

Dimitrov and González have been one of the most talked-about new couples in the sports and entertainment world in 2025. The pair reportedly began dating early in the year, and their relationship became public in April when González was spotted cheering him on at the Madrid Open. They made things official the following month with a joint Instagram post. Since then, the couple has been seen at several high-profile fashion week events.
