Carlos Alcaraz Shows Up at NBA Game With Brother, Goes Fishing With Friends in Miami As He Embraces Off-Season

Spanish tennis star and World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is currently enjoying a well-deserved break from the rigors of the ATP tour, making the most of his downtime in Miami. The Spaniard was recently spotted enjoying a mix of experiences, from attending an NBA game featuring the Miami Heat to fishing amidst a stunning seascape.

Carlos Alcaraz Relishes Offseason Downtime in Miami

Alcaraz is currently one of the most successful players on the tour, and his 2025 season underscored that dominance. The Spaniard closed the year with an impressive 71–9 win-loss record, claiming eight tour titles, including three Masters 1000 trophies and two Grand Slams. He also reached the ATP Finals in Turin, where he ultimately fell to archrival Jannik Sinner in the final.

Alcaraz was then scheduled to play for Spain in the Davis Cup Finals, but a right thigh injury forced him to withdraw, cutting his season short. However, he didn’t stay away from the sport entirely and was also spotted cheering on his younger brother, Jaime Alcaraz, a few days ago at an ATP Challenger Tour event.

Although the Spaniard is making the most of the offseason, he still has a few exhibition events lined up in the United States, including in New Jersey and Miami. Before those, he chose to enjoy some unique experiences, recently attending the Miami Heat vs. Milwaukee Bucks game, where he was even photographed holding his custom Heat jersey. His elder brother, Álvaro Alcaraz, accompanied him to the game as well.

The Spaniard also tried his hand at fishing and eventually hauled in a sizable catch. He was later seen with friends, all of whom were clearly thrilled with the outcome.

During his Miami visit, the World No. 1 also met former World No. 3 and US Open champion Juan Martín del Potro. The towering Argentine cut a sharp figure in a white shirt and black shorts, accessorized with sleek black sunglasses, while Alcaraz sported black shorts and a beaming smile as he posed alongside the tennis legend.

In addition, the world No. 1 will headline the Miami Invitational on December 8 at loanDepot Park. The one-off event will also showcase top talent, João Fonseca, Amanda Anisimova, and Emma Raducanu.
