The Dallas Cowboys fell short in the NFC blockbuster against the San Francisco 49ers, extending America Team’s losing streak to two and resulting in a 3-4 record through eight weeks.
Former NFL Super Bowl MVP Kurt Warner did not hesitate to share his opinion on the Cowboys’ current state of play.

Kurt Warner Reprimands Cowboys for Atrocious Plays Against 49ers
The Cowboys, after facing one of the most humiliating defeats at the hands of the Detroit Lions (47-9), were recharged to play for their dignity. However, things once again did not work out in Dallas’ favor.
Warner, the former Los Angeles Rams QB, took to X (formerly Twitter) to post his analysis of the tape from Sunday night’s game.
“Man, this Cowboys tape is a tough watch again… play design, details/execution (bc can’t be sure which it is), Dak [Prescott] not playing well, etc… it would be so frustrating watching that as an O!!!” he tweeted.

The Cowboys let the game slip away in the third quarter as the 49ers scored 21 unanswered points. Dallas tried to rally in the last quarter and, despite several missed attempts, managed to score two touchdowns.
Yet, it was too late, and the Cowboys lost 30-24 at the final whistle.
Dak Prescott Highlights His Frustration
After the game, the 31-year-old Dak Prescott spoke candidly about his state of mind to the media.
“I mean, I’m personally frustrated,” Prescott said. “Frustrated with myself about my play. I imagine the rest of the guys are frustrated about not getting a win.”

“Two in a row, sitting at 3-4,” he continued. “I can definitely tell you that nobody’s shaking or giving up. Frustration is very high. But it’s a long season. A lot of division games, and a lot is still ahead of us. Frustrated, that’s the best way that I can put it.”
Prescott is averaging -0.04 EPA (expected points added) per dropback this season. That’s a career-low and ranks 23rd in the NFL through Week 8, right behind the embattled Aaron Rodgers.
PFN’s QB+ metric takes a variety of quarterback play factors into account, including success rate and situational execution in the clutch.
Prescott entered Week 8 ranked 24th in that metric, thanks in part to a career-low 84.5 passer rating when kept clean. That ranks 26th among qualified quarterbacks this season and is easily the worst Prescott has posted since PFF began keeping pressure numbers in 2019. Just last season, Prescott posted a 108.5 passer rating when kept clean, which was seventh-best in the NFL.

In Week 9, Prescott and the Cowboys will once again be on the road. This time, they will take on the NFC South-leading Atlanta Falcons.
