The Tennessee Titans will be on the clock in less than a month at the 2025 NFL Draft. They need a quarterback, but with players like Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter expected to be available, they have options that are hard to pass up. University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward has been gaining momentum as the projected pick for Tennessee.
But former two-time Super Bowl champ LeSean McCoy thinks the Titans should go a different route — specifically, University of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Sanders and Ward have emerged as the clear top two quarterbacks in the draft, and one of them is likely to be Tennessee’s next QB.

LeSean McCoy’s Plea to Tennessee Titans
McCoy believes that Sanders is the best quarterback in the draft. He also thinks Sanders would bring swagger and attention to a Titans team that has lacked both in recent years.
“Go get the best QB in the draft and put the excitement back in the city,” McCoy said on FS1’s “The Facility.”
Sanders’ draft stock has been up and down this offseason. At times, he’s been projected as the No. 1 pick. Other times, he’s slid to the top three or even out of the first round entirely. Still, he’s one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the class, and the Titans wouldn’t be reaching if they follow McCoy’s advice and take him with the No. 1 overall pick.
.@CutonDime25 think’s it’s a no-brainer for the Titans to draft Shedeur Sanders #1 overall:

Thanks to his name and confident personality, Sanders will draw attention wherever he ends up. But that won’t matter much to the Titans. They only care about who gives them the best shot at winning. They have the first pick for a reason and need a talented quarterback to turn things around.
Can Sanders Save Tennessee? Titans’ Offense Needs Spark, and Fast
If McCoy’s voice reaches Tennessee’s front office and Sanders becomes the pick, he’d be walking into an offense that’s currently a mess. In PFSN’s Offense+ metric, the Titans finished 27th with a grade of 64.8/D. The unit struggled across the board, especially at quarterback. Will Levis had a rough year before being benched late in the season for Mason Rudolph.
Still, there are a few bright spots. The team has some playmakers, including Tony Pollard and Calvin Ridley. Pollard rushed for more than 1,000 yards, while Ridley topped 1,000 receiving yards. With better quarterback play, the offense has the potential to improve. If the Titans go in that direction, Sanders could be the guy to make that happen.
The draft is coming fast, and Tennessee has to decide which way to take the franchise. New head coach Brian Callahan gets his first shot at picking a quarterback, and it’s a decision he has to get right. If it were up to McCoy, the pick would be Sanders. But with the buzz surrounding Ward after his pro day, McCoy might end up disappointed.
