Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott desperately wants to win the Super Bowl. At the end of minicamp, he made his feelings known to the media and laid out his goals for the season. Prescott is ready to leave his legacy behind and end the wait for another Lombardi Trophy in Dallas. It’s been 29 years, fans are getting restless, and it’s on Prescott to be one of the main contributors in Dallas’ quest for another Super Bowl.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith does not like Prescott’s comments and called him out for publicizing his Super Bowl aspirations.
Stephen A. Smith Tells Dak Prescott to Stop Talking
Smith was not amused by Prescott revealing his championship aspirations and sees him as a broken record. Calling out Prescott for saying the same thing repeatedly each season, Smith doesn’t want to hear it from Prescott anymore. Smith was even willing to say that if the NFL had the power, they shouldn’t let him talk.
“If I could petition the NFL to say don’t let a quarterback talk, okay, it would be Dak Prescott,” said Smith.
Smith believes he hears the same quotes from Prescott each year and uses the same ones depending on the month, outcome, or situation throughout the season. It may get old for Smith, but Prescott has the freedom to answer the media however he wants, and unfortunately for Smith, the NFL can’t do anything about it.
For Prescott, the goal remains the same every year. Winning the Super Bowl is the ultimate prize, and he will make it known regardless of what Smith may feel about it.
Cowboys fans are behind Prescott and will root for him to do whatever it takes to get them out of this dark age of repeated failure each year. The Cowboys haven’t been to the Super Bowl since they last won it 29 years ago and are banking on Prescott to get them there.
The Cowboys have given Prescott weapons to help him return from a tough 2024. He missed the second half of the year with an injury, and even in the first half, the Cowboys struggled and got off to a slow start. Looking to avoid a similar predicament in 2025, Prescott will have to find his form early and often to avoid more scrutiny from the media and Smith.
The Cowboys have a new head coach, Brian Schottenheimer, and new additions scattered throughout the offense and defense. Looking to leave the old in the past, Prescott and the Cowboys are locked in on delivering the fans what they have desperately waited for.
