The Pittsburgh Steelers are still without a starting quarterback for the 2025 season. Or are they?
A recent online poll asked Pittsburgh fans who they would like to lead the team in 2025, with a surprising name coming out on top.

Steelers Fans Think Mason Rudolph Should Be
Team’s Starter in 2025
The Steelers continue to wait on the decision on Aaron Rodgers as the four-time MVP mulls over his next career move. With their team seemingly at the mercy of Rodgers, many fans have grown sick of the veteran’s apparent unwillingness to commit.
Pittsburgh currently holds the 21st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, likely too far back to take either Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. The team had been the favorite to spend a first-round pick on Jaxson Dart who is largely considered to be the consensus third-best quarterback in the class. But even Dart is now expected to be off the board by the time the Steelers go on the clock.
But none of that might matter now anyway, as Pittsburgh fans recently voted Mason Rudolph as their preferred choice to lead the team in 2025. The 29-year-old backup quarterback re-signed with the Steelers after spending a year with the Tennessee Titans.
Steelers fans, if both Jaxson Dart and Shedeur should somehow be available to the #Steelers in Rd 1, what would your starting QB preference be to open 2025?

Is Mason Rudolph Pittsburgh’s Best Option?
While the value of players compared to other players is largely subjective, the fact that Rudolph has claimed 42.7% of votes (at the time of writing) is surprising. Rudolph has never been the first-choice quarterback for an NFL team and lost four of five starts in Tennessee last season.
While Rodgers has exhausted fans enough to have received the fewest votes in the poll (17.5%), the player has a long history of success in the NFL. While no longer the elite mobile quarterback that he used to be, Rodgers would give the Steelers a chance to compete for a Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Sanders and Dart would offer the team a “mystery box” option, with the success of rookie quarterbacks so hard to predict. Drafting a high-potential rookie is never a bad idea and the Steelers remain in win-now mode. They initially attempted to replace Ben Roethlisberger with Kenny Pickett.
That didn’t work, prompting the signing of Russell Wilson in 2024 and the continued pursuit of Rodgers. It’s possible that the poll was simply hijacked by rival fans.
Even still, the idea of promoting Rudolph as a starter might just make Pittsburgh fans feel more in control, especially since Cam Heyward already signed off on it. Whether fans genuinely prefer Rudolph or not, it remains possible that the Steelers could end up without a choice come September.
I can’t understand why the Pittsburgh Steelers are on their knees trying to get arrogant to Rogers. He’s either holding out for more money or he really doesn’t have any plans on playing he’s not the quarterback used to be all he does is cause chaos white fingers it other players it’s GMS and coaches fired don’t waste your time on him he needs to hang up his cleats
