‘I Don’t Believe That’ – Skip Bayless Calls Out Micah Parsons for Comments on Taking Pay Cut To Facilitate Myles Garrett Trade

Skip Bayless is back at it, and this time, Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is in his crosshairs. Parsons floated the idea of taking a pay cut if it meant bringing Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett to Dallas — but Bayless isn’t buying it.

The sports talk veteran isn’t convinced Parsons would actually leave money on the table, especially in today’s NFL, where every dollar counts.

Skip Bayless Calls Micah Parsons’ Pay Cut Talk, Doubts Myles Garrett-to-Dallas Fantasy

On “The Skip Bayless Show,” the outspoken analyst Bayless shut down Parsons’ claim that he’d take a pay cut if it meant bringing Garrett to the Cowboys. Bayless’ reaction was a firm “I don’t believe that.”

Bayless started by acknowledging Garrett’s deep Texas ties. He grew up a Cowboys fan, starred at Texas A&M, and became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Sure, Garrett might love the idea of suiting up for Big D, but Bayless puts the odds at a slim 2% (and that’s him being optimistic).

He said, “Myles Garrett grew up to be a Cowboys fan and then went on to Texas A&M and he went on to be selected No. 1 overall in the draft. So, would Garrett love to be traded to the Cowboys? Well, sure, he would. But what percentage would I give that happening? I’ll be optimistic and give it 2%.”

    Then came the real heat.

According to Bayless, Garrett knows he’s better than Parsons, and his paycheck proves it. Garrett is the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player, a title Parsons clearly has his eyes on.

While Parsons’ “I’d take less money to win” stance sounds noble, Bayless isn’t buying the selflessness. The analyst quipped, “Myles Garrett is better than Micah Parsons, and Myles Garrett knows it. Myles Garrett has earned being the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player, which is what Micah wants to be right here, right now.

“Micah says he would take a little less money if Myles would also agree to take a little less. Well, what exactly is a little less, guys? Micah says he’d do anything to win, even sacrifice some salary, but I’m sorry, I don’t believe that.

“I believe Micah wants to be treated and paid like a star,” Bayless said, cutting through the feel-good narrative.

And folks, he’s got a point. Parsons is eyeing a major payday himself. But would he really sacrifice millions to share the spotlight? Bayless’ skepticism might not sit well.

For now, Garrett to Dallas remains a fantasy, and Bayless is calling it exactly how he sees it.
