Deion Sanders’, or Coach Prime as most refer to him, son Shedeur Sanders recently hosted soccer legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic for an exclusive interview on his 2Legendary podcast alongside brother Bucky. The duo highlighted various aspects of their lives including fighting hate, their future outlook, and handling fame.
However, the most eye-catching moment was when Ibrahimovic asked Shedeur about his NFL future. With all eyes on the top QB prospect in the NFL draft right now, his answer about what he is looking for in an NFL team obviously caught the attention of many.

Shedeur Sanders Opens Up Regarding NFL Future
“Let me ask you a question. How long are you gonna stay in college? How does it work?” Ibrahimovic asked.
Shedeur explained the draft process and mentioned that his team Colorado was three more games away from wrapping up the 2024 college football schedule. When asked about his favorite pro team, the QB hesitated to make a pick.
However, Shedeur didn’t shy away from addressing his priorities. The gunslinger is not interested in certain teams drafting him, because he thinks they don’t align with his principles.

“There’s a couple teams that don’t fit, you know, the situation, everything, and you got to understand, there’s a couple teams that don’t like the personality, that don’t like, you know, dad, and don’t like everything like that. So, it is what it is,” Shedeur mentioned.
Reacting to this dilemma, Ibrahimovic encouraged the QB to trust his process and pay no heed to critics berating him via social media and other channels.
“Don’t worry about it. Be confident, because the more they talk, you’re doing good. Just follow that patch. Because they shouldn’t judge after what they see. They will know when they have it in their hands. They will know what they have,” he added.
Deion Sanders To Partially Dictate Shedeur’s NFL Landing Spot
The Colorado QB’s comment was basically a reiteration of what his dad, Deion Sanders, said on Tuesday’s episode of “Speak”. The NFL great claimed to partially dictate his son’s landing spot. He believes that there are certain teams incapable of molding QBs and there is no room for growth. In case the wrong franchise picks Shedeur, Coach Prime promised to intervene and pull an ‘Eli Manning saga’ if necessary.
“[I’ll pull an] Eli, a Lavar Ball, a LeBron (James) … I’m pulling all of them” Deion said. “Honestly, we’ve talked about it ostensibly, I’ve talked to a multitude of (NFL) teams because they’re at practice every day, but I want what’s best for him, but I want him to be happy as well.
“You don’t really get to dictate where your son gets to go because there’s a draft process, but you know us, you know how we are. We know who ain’t trying to win in the NFL, you know who’s consistently in the basement year after year. You don’t want that situation for your kid or your family members.”
Two potential teams in contention for the expected first-round pick are the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders currently hold the fifth overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft order and happen to be a likely spot for Sanders. But we never know as Coach Prime had previously mentioned about climatic conditions playing a role in his decision-making.
Meanwhile, in the college arena, the Buffaloes are enjoying a breakout season under the legendary coach. They are currently 7-2 and just three wins away from securing a Big 12 championship ticket. And now, thanks to the college football playoffs expanded field, they could even be competing for a national championship.
