The Seattle Seahawks are without Boye Mafe, Byron Murphy II, Leonard Williams, and Uchenna Nwosu for their Monday night matchup with the Detroit Lions. This will be quite difficult against a Lions offense that has the third most rushes per game in the NFL. Luckily for Seattle, it looks as if there is a chance Kenneth Walker III will play.

Seahawks vs. Lions Preview and Prediction
The Lions rank third in rushing EPA (expected points added) and sixth in rushes of 10 or more yards. Per TruMedia, the Seahawks are eighth against the run this year in EPA but are without several starters on defense. If you only look at the 18 plays where Mafe, Murphy, and Williams were not on the field they rank 19th. Furthermore, the Seahawks defense is first in both pass EPA and pressure generated.
Mafe, Williams, and Murphy rank third, 13th, and 36th out of 164 players with over 50 pass-rushing snaps this season in pressure rate. While two of the three replacements don’t meet minimum pass-rush requirements, they would rank 129th and 157th out of 164. The other replacement, Derrick Hall, ranks 12th.
Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald is the fifth head coach under the age of 40 since 2000 to win each of his first three career games, joining:

The Lions’ defense ranks 16th against the pass in EPA and 16th in pressure generated. Overall, the Lions’ defense has been about league average. They face a Seahawks offense who loves to air it out, ranking second in pass rate over expected and 15th in passing EPA.
My Pick: Lions -4, Lions ML (-198), Over 47 total points
