The Los Angeles Rams were a surprise success story in the 2023 NFL season, making the playoffs and finishing second in the NFC West. The Rams’ head coach, Sean McVay, has been a big reason for their development.
As creative as McVay is on the field, there’s always interest in how he manages his personal life with his high-demanding job. Luckily for him, his wife, Veronika Khomyn, is supportive and understands the need for McVay to spend the time he does coaching his team.
Meet Veronika Khomyn, Sean McVay’s Better Half
Khomyn was born on March 1, 1990, in Ukraine. It wasn’t until 2009 that she immigrated to the United States. She has lived in the U.S. since but still represents Ukraine proudly on her social media.
Just before moving to the United States, Khomyn became a model at the age of 18. Her first professional appearance was in a commercial in Ukraine. She has since worked with BC Clubbing and UFC Gym, among others.
Aside from her modeling career and business degrees, she does have a sizeable following on Instagram. As of September 2024, Khomyn has over 85,000 followers, but her account is private. She is a licensed realtor, practicing in Los Angeles, having started the career path in early 2021.
The love story between Khomyn and McVay began during his stint as an assistant coach for the Washington Commanders from 2011 to 2013. At that time, Khomyn was a George Mason University student getting her Bachelor’s in international business; she also got a Master’s in global management from Arizona State University.
McVay earned his first and only head coaching job with the Rams in 2017, becoming the youngest head coach in NFL history. Just a couple of years later, in June 2019, Khomyn announced that the two had become engaged.
“The man of my dreams, my best friend and the love of my life asked me to marry him. And I said YES!!! to being his McBae forever. Here’s to our life together!” Khomyn said on Instagram.
After getting engaged in France in 2019, the power couple said their vows in a stunning Beverly Hills wedding in June 2022. This was just months after McVay led the Rams to a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

McVay and Khomyn have a baby boy named Jordan John McVay, whom they welcomed on October 24, 2023. Their child’s middle name is a homage to Sean’s grandfather — John McVay, a San Francisco 49ers executive.
Revealing the reason behind that in a press conference, the Rams coach said: “His original due date was when my grandfather passed a year ago on the 31st. Which is just pretty special and if you don’t believe in a higher power. The influence that my grandfather had on me … but also our family, he had a special relationship with Veronika as well. I thought that was only appropriate to have his middle name after my grandfather.”
