‘Why Would He Punish Them Like That’ – Saquon Barkley’s Massive Surprise for Eagles’ O-Line Has Fans Elated

Running back Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl on Feb. 9, dominating the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, keeping the Chiefs from scoring until late in the third quarter. At that stage, the Eagles were winning 34-0 and the game was already effectively over. Barkley played a big role in the Eagles’ playoff run but did not have his best game in the Super Bowl.

However, that didn’t keep Barkley from gifting something memorable to his offensive line.

Fans React Saquon Barkley Gives a Surprising Gift to His Offensive Line

Barkley had one of his worst performances of the season in the Super Bowl, rushing for 57 yards on 25 carries. The Chiefs’ game plan appeared to be centered around shutting Barkley down. While they were effective in doing that, they failed to shut down the rest of the Eagles’ offense.

Regardless, Barkley still played a significant role in the Eagles’ playoff run. Without him, it is unclear whether they would have been able to reach the Super Bowl. Barkley has often given credit to his offensive line for much of his success this season. As a result, after the Super Bowl, he got them an interesting gift. He gifted each member of his offensive line a truckload of Bud Light after the Super Bowl.

Fans reacted to this gift on Instagram, with many saying that it was more of a punishment than a gift.

“Why would he punish them like that?,” one fan wrote.

“Bud light? They’re definitely not winning again,” one fan commented.

“All that money and you’re gonna buy Bud Light? I thought you liked your O line,” one fan added.

Fans continued to sound off in the comments on Instagram.

“Don’t even have to read to these comments to know that there are a bunch of grown ass men bitching about Bud Light being a bad beer,” one fan wrote.

“Cause they protected him to be able to run the way he does. I would’ve to this is so dope,” one fan commented.

“He trying to ruin the team after the Super Bowl smh,” one fan added.

Most fans joked about the fact that Barkley chose Bud Light as his beer of choice to gift to his offensive line. They called him out for not gifting a higher-quality beer.

However, most people who were not making jokes appreciated the gift. It was certainly a good gesture and must have cost him a lot of money.
