Saquon Barkley’s Contract, Salary, and Net Worth: How Much Money Is the Eagles RB Making?

One of the headline moves of the 2024 NFL offseason came when Saquon Barkley signed a three-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. After six seasons with the New York Giants, the star running back made the bold decision to join a division rival, and he has lived up to the hype.

Barkley has topped 2,000 rushing yards since arriving in Philly and helped power the Eagles to a Super Bowl 59 championship. Here’s a breakdown of his contract, salary structure, and current net worth.

    Saquon Barkley’s Contract and Salary

The Eagles’ star running back signed a lucrative three-year deal worth approximately $37.8 million, including a hefty $11.6 million signing bonus and $26 million guaranteed.

Philadelphia gave Barkley close to $24 million over the first two years of the deal. His cap hit for the 2024 season was just $3.9 million, and then it will increase to $13.5 million in 2025. In 2026, only $1.5 million of Barkley’s salary is guaranteed.

Barkley’s deal averages $12.6 million per year, which initially made him the NFL’s third-highest-paid running back. At the time, only Christian McCaffrey ($19 million AAV) and Jonathan Taylor ($14 million AAV) earned more.

Following Philadelphia’s Super Bowl triumph, the Eagles rewarded Barkley with a two-year, $41.2 million extension. With that new agreement in place, he now holds the title of the league’s highest-paid running back.

Barkley’s Net Worth and Career Earnings

Barkley’s net worth is estimated at around $32 million. Through his NFL contracts alone, he has earned roughly $79.7 million to date. Off the field, he brings in about $10 million per year through endorsements with major brands like Nike, Pepsi, and Toyota. Barkley has said he prefers to live off his endorsement income while investing his NFL earnings wisely.

He’s also active in business ventures. In 2021, he invested in the energy drink brand X2 Performance as part of his growing portfolio beyond football.

“I have been a big believer in X2’s line of clean products for a long time,” Barkley said in a statement. “I am very selective of brands I endorse and even more selective of companies I choose to invest in.”

Barkley joined Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Lavonte David, Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard, and ESPN insider Adam Schefter as notable investors in X2 Performance.

It certainly seems like Barkley has been brilliant with his money, and he’ll have plenty more coming in over the next several years. Through 11 games this year, he has totaled 684 rushing yards and four touchdowns, averaging 3.7 yards per carry. According to PFSN’s RB Impact metric, he currently ranks 31st among NFL running backs.
