Shedeur Sanders is becoming the talk of the town in the NFL world as April 2025 nears. Playing quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes, with his dad — Deion Sanders, being the head coach, the 22-year-old is being eyed by several NFL teams to fix their quarterback issues.
As he gears up for a strong end to the 2024 college football season and then the 2025 NFL Draft, the younger Sanders has become one of the hottest names to watch. However, not everyone is sold on the idea of him joining the NFL just yet, and New Orleans Saints fans are making their skepticism clear as draft rumors begin to swirl.
Saints Fans Are Not Big on Shedeur Sanders
The Saints have been in need of a franchise quarterback since Drew Brees retired, and Derek Carr is not performing to his promised potential. Having lost six straight games and head coach Dennis Allen getting fired, one would think that the fans would want stability.

However, not all fans are thrilled by the thought of Sanders taking on that role. Reacting to a potential mock draft on X, one fan wrote, “No Sanders please. Not sure why people think he’d be a good NFL QB. Let someone’s else have him.”

“I’m just not high on Shedeur Sanders. I don’t want that on my team. Leave the Patek Philippe at home until you win some meaningful games,” remarked another.
Another voiced a similar stance, saying, “Saints should absolutely wait until 2026 for a QB,” indicating they aren’t looking to gamble on an unproven rookie just yet.
One fan took a more practical angle, highlighting the Saints’ offensive line issues as a greater priority. He commented, “Some of you still don’t get it, we need to completely overhaul the offensive line and draft a starting RT and IOL who can play both LG/RG. Non of these QBs coming out are franchise QBs in my opinion.”
One X user tweeted, “The Saints drafting Sanders is my worst nightmare.”
“Get out of the first round and get as many 2nd and 3rd round picks as possible. We do not need Dieon Sanders involved in New Orleans. Also, Loomis cannot be in the country for the draft,” wrote one more, having seen the kind of influence Coach Prime has had on his son’s career.
Another X user, not a fan of Shedeur’s attitude, commented: “Why do you insist on poisoning the locker room?”
Nevertheless, the Saints organization appears interested. New Orleans joined four other NFL teams that visited Colorado’s campus in late October to scout Sanders and other top talent.

While Sanders’ draft potential is undeniable, competition is fierce, with Miami’s Cam Ward also in the mix.
Only time will tell if the Saints will take a chance on Sanders or if fans will come around to the idea of him leading their team. For now, one thing’s for sure: wherever Shedeur goes, he’s bound to make head turns in the NFL.
