Drama is brewing in the NFL as former Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick took a public jab at Aaron Rodgers. Fitzpatrick called Rodgers out for allegedly “lying” about ignoring a subtle diss from ex-New York Jets teammate Mike Williams.
Ryan Fitzpatrick Is Not Having Aaron Rodgers’ Lie
Following the Pittsburgh Steelers’ nail-biting 28-27 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Williams, now a Steeler, took to Instagram to celebrate his game-winning touchdown and sent a pointed message to Rodgers by hashtagging “#RedLine.”

The jab harks back to a prior controversy between the two when Rodgers blamed Williams for a route mishap during a game.
Rodgers, not one to shy away from speaking his mind, had critiqued Williams after the miscommunication, saying, “There’s two verticals, Allen [Lazard] is down the seam, and Mike [Williams] is down the red line. I’m looking at Allen, he puts his hand up, and three guys go with him. So I’m throwing a no-look to the red line.
“And when I peek my eyes back there, [Williams] is running an in-breaker. He’s got to be on the red line,” Rodgers continued.
This very route error became the basis for Williams’ Instagram clapback after his clutch play with Pittsburgh.
However, when asked about Williams’ post, Rodgers played it cool. The veteran quarterback claimed he hadn’t seen the post and added, “I like Mike. I’m happy for Mike.”
But Fitzpatrick wasn’t buying it. The former Miami QB mocked Rodgers on social media, pointing out the irony that he is selectively viewing stuff on social media. He mentioned how Rodgers was aware of a fake Jared Goff stat circulating online (that he talked about on The Pat McAfee Show) but claims to be unaware of Williams’ dig.
“Amazing that Aaron saw the Goff fake 7-0 INT stat but didn’t see the Mike Williams TD tweet. His filters on this app must be amazing… (I can write this knowing he won’t ever see it),” Fitzpatrick tweeted, speculating that Rodgers may have been feigning ignorance.

This isn’t Fitzpatrick’s first time calling out Rodgers. Earlier in the season, he publicly criticized the Jets quarterback for scapegoating Williams following New York’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.
He didn’t stop there and even confronted the 40-year-old NFL legend on a Thursday Night Football segment.
