Rams Predicted To Trade for 32-TD Playmaker and Go All In for Super Bowl Run

The Los Angeles Rams had a very uneven offseason that was marred by a ton of changes. Alongside the uncertainty surrounding Matthew Stafford, they also parted ways with former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp, instead replacing him with Davante Adams.

So far, it looks like almost all of their moves have paid off, as Stafford is having one of the best seasons of his career, while the team has improved to 5-2. However, for a team trying to return to the Super Bowl and add another title to their collection, one analyst believes they are one piece short of achieving that goal.

Rams Could Look to Improve In-Between Passing Game

Despite Puka Nacua getting injured and missing time, the offense for the team has been downright electric, ranking 7th on PFSN’s Offense Impact, and giving Stafford a legitimate case as an MVP candidate.

However, the full unit still has some question marks, particularly in the in-between game in Nacua’s absence. As a result, Jacob Infante, in his list of trade targets for every NFL team, pegged the Rams as a landing spot for Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku.

With none of the team’s current tight ends ranking in the top-30 of PFSN’s TE Impact except Harold Fannin Jr., who ranks 14th, they could be looking for an upgrade at the position. Njoku might be a relatively cost-effective option that could severely impact the team.

“With a cap hit of just over $1 million if acquired, David Njoku would be a great tight end to target for a contending team at the NFL trade deadline,” Infante wrote. A consistent producer throughout his career, Njoku has amassed over 4,000 receiving yards and 32 touchdowns, despite the subpar quarterback play that has plagued the Browns franchise.

Infante added, “He’s been one of the better players at his position the last few years, and the Browns could look to get something for him at the deadline as he projects to hit free agency after this season.”

On his own, Njoku might not be able to take a team over the hump, but with the core that LA has built for this season, he might be the ideal addition to take their passing attack to the next level and raise their hopes of making a Super Bowl push.

For a team at 5-2 with quality wins across the board, it might not seem like many improvements are necessary. However, their losses have highlighted the squad’s vulnerability. Njoku could go a long way in masking those deficits and elevating the team as a whole.
