The Las Vegas Raiders and the Indianapolis Colts have similar goals for the 2025 season. Both teams have been to the playoffs twice over the last decade and would like a change in that equation.
For the Colts, their hopes rest on Anthony Richardson solidifying himself as the franchise quarterback, while the Raiders had a hectic offseason trying to build a playoff contender. But an excellent addition could still be on the board for both teams, in the form of an unsigned free agent.

What Could Help the Indianapolis Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders’ Playoff Hopes?
While their outlook is the same going into the 2025 campaign, their performance last season was also very similar, especially on the defensive end. The Colts finished the season ranked 23rd on PFSN’s Defense+ metric, just two spots behind the Raiders at 21.
Change was necessary in Indianapolis, and firing Gus Bradley was the first step in that direction. Throughout the offseason, the team spent a lot of capital on defense, first adding Camryn Bynum and Charvarius Ward in free agency before turning their attention to the draft.
JT Tuimoloau and Justin Walley were the main additions from the rookie class. However, more help is necessary if the Colts want to take a legitimate step forward. The Raiders, on the other hand, will rely heavily on Maxx Crosby.
After signing their defensive ace, the rest of the group could also use some work. As a result, Moe Moton of Bleacher Report believes either of the teams could be smart destinations for Kyzir White, who he ranked fifth on the list of best remaining unsigned free agents.
White began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers as a seven-year veteran in the league. Injuries played a huge role in a slow start to his career, but today, he is one of the most versatile linebackers in the game.
As a result, Moton believes the former Arizona Cardinals star would be a brilliant addition for either of the two teams. After suiting up for all 17 games in three of the last four seasons, White has also moved past the early career injury stigma.

“This offseason, the Silver and Black signed Devin White and Elandon Roberts to one-year deals. They played less than 45 percent of their previous teams’ defensive snaps last season,” Moton wrote. “The Raiders could address their weakest position group with one of the top free agents younger than 30.”
With both teams looking to make a playoff push and build a consistently competitive squad, White offers one of the most reliable linebackers who can give them instant value on the football field.
