NFL analyst Rhett Lewis may have the wildest prediction for the 2025 NFL Draft thus far. In his latest mock draft, Lewis is projecting that the Las Vegas Raiders will trade up to the No. 2 pick in the draft. However, they aren’t moving up for a quarterback but rather a generational talent in Travis Hunter.

Las Vegas Raiders Land Travis Hunter After Trading Up In NFL Draft
After initially predicting this in his NFL.com mock draft, Lewis hopped on NFL Network to explain the rationale behind the move.
He argued that Hunter is one of the few blue-chip players in this year’s draft, so such a trade would make sense for the Raiders.
“Look, I think this is a draft that maybe doesn’t have as many way-up-there, elite, top-tier, blue-chip type of players. But Travis Hunter is certainly one of those guys,” Lewis said. “He feels like one of these guys that you would move up to go and get. And look, it’s not a huge jump from six to two for the Raiders to go up and make that move with the Cleveland Browns.”

He also explained how Hunter would solve two of the Raiders’ biggest positional needs. Lewis added that a player like Hunter would fit with the Raiders’ new head coach, Pete Carroll.
“And it just so happens to solve two fairly big needs for them. And I feel like Pete Carroll is a coach, Tom, that is going to be unafraid about using Travis Hunter full go on both sides of the ball, DB and receiver,” he said.
Such a move would require the Raiders to give up both the No. 6 overall pick and next year’s first-round pick, but Lewis thinks the value of Hunter as a player in two positions is too valuable.
“You might have to give up a 2026 first-round pick to go ahead and make this move. But I think you would take Travis Hunter, the wide receiver, in the first round. In another draft, you would take Travis Hunter, the DB, in the first round, too,” he explained.
“So this really feels like a two-for-one, and I feel pretty good about giving up the compensation to go get this player.”
Moving from the No. 2 overall pick down to the No. 6 overall pick will cost the Browns a chance at Hunter and Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter, but they still wind up with an immediate upgrade in Boise State star RB Ashton Jeanty in Lewis’ mock draft.
Lewis has the Browns passing on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is still available in the mock draft, for another Heisman finalist in Jeanty. Last season, he came close to beating Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing record that was set in 1988, ending the season just 20 yards shy with 2,601 yards rushing.
