Pro Bowl Skills Showdown 2022: Events, schedule, and more

What events make up the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown in 2022? When and where will the event air ahead of the Pro Bowl game itself?

The NFL Pro Bowl Skills Showdown will return for the fifth time in 2022. This year will see the Pro Bowl Skills Showdown with new original events, including Best Catch and Fastest Man events. Let’s take a look at the events that will make up the Skills Showdown and when/where you can catch the action.

Also, make sure to check out the complete list of 2022 NFL Pro Bowl rosters to see who will represent the AFC and NFC during the event. You can also see the Pro Bowl voting results that led to your favorite players making the cut.

2022 Pro Bowl Skills Showdown Events

  • Precision Passing (quarterbacks and one non-quarterback)
  • Thread the Needle (quarterbacks and defensive backs)
  • Best Catch (wide receivers)
  • Fastest Man (wide receivers, running backs, and defensive backs)
  • Epic Pro Bowl Dodgeball (all)

What will happen in each of the events?

The Precision Passing will see two quarterbacks and one non-quarterback from each conference compete. The challenge will be a one-minute accuracy competition. A new element for 2022 will see targets attached to robotic dummies that are in motion across the event. After their minute is up, the quarterbacks will get one long-distance throw to earn bonus points.

The Thread the Needle event will see QBs compete against the opposing conference’s defensive backs. The QBs will be looking to hit as many targets as possible, with the DBs working together to limit their success.

In the Best Catch event, two receivers from each conference will compete. They will show off talents, ingenuity, and creativity in an event scored by a panel of celebrity judges. The event is expected to include props and guest appearances to produce the best highlight-reel catches.

It will be no surprise that the Fastest Man event is a 40-yard dash between two players from each conference. Each conference will select from their RBs, WRs, and DBs, who will go head-to-head for the title of the NFL’s fastest player.

It all culminates with the Epic Dodgeball event. This game will see every member of the two teams compete in a best-of-three series.
