Despite reuniting with safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles rewarded another starter in their secondary on Monday. Following his first season as a full-time starter in Philadelphia, Reed Blankenship signed an extension with the Eagles.

Edwards following his ascension in Philadelphia.

While it was clear that Haason Reddick didn’t want to leave Philadelphia, both sides couldn’t agree to a contract extension. Therefore, the Eagles traded Reddick to the New York Jets as both sides go their separate ways. During his introductory press conference with the Jets on Monday, Reddick addressed his departure from Philadelphia and how he understands how tough the business can be at times.

How Will Eagles’ Offense Mix With Kellen Moore’s Scheme in 2024?

Following Philadelphia’s embarrassing end to last season, many expected the Eagles to fire head coach Nick Sirianni. NFL Announced Performance-Based Pay Distributions for 2023

Although Blankenship signed a one-year extension with the Eagles on Monday, it wasn’t his only payday. The NFL announced their performance-based pay distributions and Blankenship was near the top of the list. Due to his impressive play and undrafted free agent status, Blankenship earned the second-highest bonus, worth $923,059.

Eagles To Host Kentucky Cornerback Andru Phillips

According to Jake Rabadi of The Liberty Line, the Eagles will host Kentucky cornerback Andru Phillips on a 30 visit. Phillips is a player that Philadelphia has consistently shown interest in throughout the pre-draft process. Given his versatility and experience playing both outside cornerback and slot cornerback, Phillips would be an ideal pick for the Eagles.
