    The Philadelphia Eagles have continued to reward their own this offseason, as they signed rising star wide receiver DeVonta Smith to a massive three-year contract extension. Smith met with reporters on Tuesday to discuss his new deal and future with the franchise.

    Philadelphia made a massive decision this offseason when the team traded star pass rusher Haason Reddick to the New York Jets. Reddick was viewed as Philadelphia’s top edge rusher and even with the arrival of Bryce Huff, the position is still a question for the Eagles. Pro Football Network’s Adam Caplan released his latest mock draft and has Philadelphia selecting arguably the top edge rusher in this year’s draft class.

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye is — somewhat surprisingly — the top player ranked in this year’s class.

    Howie Roseman Discusses Potential Draft Strategy, CB Concerns, and More

    Roseman met with the media during the team’s pre-draft press conference on Tuesday. Philadelphia’s general manager answered several questions, including concerns about the team’s uncommon draft strategy at cornerback. Roseman mentioned that the team values the cornerback position, although they have found success addressing the spot outside of the NFL Draft with free agent signings and trades.

    Nick Sirianni Happy for DeVonta Smith, Explains Pre-Draft Process

    Sirianni joined Roseman on stage for the team’s pre-draft press conference on Tuesday. While Sirianni wasn’t asked nearly as many questions as Roseman, he was questioned about his involvement in the pre-draft process. Sirianni admitted that the coaching staff arrives late to the scouting process but does their best to provide input on prospects.

    Philadelphia’s head coach also discussed the benefits of a rookie potentially sitting during their rookie season with the Eagles.

    Smith Discusses Strong Relationship With A.J. Brown

    After signing a three-year, $75 million deal, Smith met with the media on Tuesday. Smith discussed several topics, including his close relationship with star wide receiver A.J. Brown. He admitted that he’s “grown very close” to Brown during their tenure together in Philadelphia.

    Smith said that he and Brown talk daily, even mentioning that their children were talking on the phone Monday night. Philadelphia’s wide receiver duo has a special bond both on and off the field.
