Who Is the Philadelphia Eagles’ Head Coach?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a long history of head coaches throughout their history, but who is the current HC that led them to the Super Bowl last year?

The Philadelphia Eagles were established in 1933 and have quite a history of head coaches. Although Andy Reid finally won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs, he was never able to win it all in Philadelphia. Doug Pederson, meanwhile, literally has a statue outside of Lincoln Financial Field because he won the franchise their first Super Bowl. But who is the current head coach of the Eagles?

Who Is the Eagles’ Head Coach?

Nick Sirianni is Philadelphia’s head coach. After getting off to a rocky start in Philadelphia following his introductory press conference, Sirianni’s quickly won over the hearts of Eagles fans with his passionate and fiery personality. It surely doesn’t hurt that the team has had plenty of success since his arrival.

How Long Has Sirianni Been Philadelphia’s Head Coach?

Sirianni was hired to be the Eagles’ head coach on Jan. 24, 2021. However, Sirianni’s coaching career began in 2004 at the University of Mount Union as a defensive backs coach. He quickly made the switch to the offensive side of the ball and rose up the ranks in the NFL.

Sirianni spent time with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich during his tenure with the San Diego Chargers (2013-2015) and Indianapolis Colts (2018-2020). He now heads into his third season as head coach of the Eagles.

Who Was the Head Coach Before Nick Sirianni?

Pederson was the Eagles’ head coach prior to Sirianni’s arrival. Although Pederson was initially viewed as a poor head coaching hire, he quickly changed that narrative. In fact, he’s still the only head coach to win a Super Bowl with Philadelphia.

Despite that achievement, Pederson was still fired following a disappointing 2020 season. After stepping away from the NFL for a year, he was then hired to be the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he surprisingly led the team to the playoffs in his first season with the franchise.

What Is Sirianni’s Record With the Eagles?

With the Eagles, Sirianni has a 23-11 record during the regular season and a 4-2 record in the postseason. Since starting his head coaching career with an embarrassing 2-5 record, he’s 25-8 in his last 33 games. Sirianni has clearly answered any questions that the doubters might have had following his infamous introductory press conference.

Has Sirianni Ever Won a Super Bowl?

In just his second year as the Eagles’ head coach, Sirianni led the team to Super Bowl LVII. However, Philadelphia failed to get the job done as their defense struggled in a 38-35 loss to the Chiefs. Despite the close affair, Sirianni has yet to win the big game in the NFL as a result.
