The 2024 NFL Draft quarterback class is stacked with talent, and the pecking order is seemingly changing almost every week. This week on the PFN Scouting Podcast, we took the time to make another Quarterback Checkpoint episode, catching up on the latest risers in the group.
PFN Scouting Podcast: 2024 NFL Draft Quarterback Checkpoint Post-Week 5
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a QB class with the combined top-end talent and sheer early-round depth that the 2024 NFL Draft class has.
Young QBs like J.J. McCarthy, Quinn Ewers, Shedeur Sanders, and Cameron Ward are producing. Veterans like Bo Nix, Michael Penix Jr., and Jayden Daniels are stacking stellar performances. And the list of sleepers is long: Jalon Daniels, Jordan Travis, Riley Leonard, Tyler Van Dyke, Michael Pratt, Will Howard, DJ Uiagalelei, and more.
As it so happens, Week 5 had some notable games on the QB side as well. Williams and Sanders dueled head-on. Jayden Daniels nearly willed the Tigers to a win on his own against the Ole Miss Rebels. And Leonard had a tough task at hand against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in prime time.
Looking at all these notable games and back at some of the games in Week 4, it feels like a good time for a Quarterback Checkpoint. At this point in time, over a third into the regular season, how does the 2024 NFL Draft QB class shake up? Myself and Dalton Miller confronted this question in the latest episode.
