Raiders HC Pete Carroll Lauds Vegas’ Ownership, Explains How NFL Legend Tom Brady Has Changed the Franchise

Las Vegas Raiders' new head coach Pete Carroll spoke glowingly about the Raiders' ownership group at his introductory press conference.

Pete Carroll has taken over as the Las Vegas Raiders’ newest head coach. Alongside John Spytek, the franchise’s new general manager, the Raiders held an introductory press conference to welcome their new regime to the public.

Tom Brady, part owner of the Raiders, was involved in the search for both a head coach and a general manager for Las Vegas. Carroll weighed in on his thoughts about Brady and the rest of the Raiders’ ownership group during his first press conference.

Raiders Ownership Group Receives Glowing Reviews From Pete Carroll

Mark Davis is the majority owner of the Raiders; however, it was not just Davis who impressed Carroll, it was the ownership group as a whole.

“In the interview part of this and also doing my research on the guys that are the owners of this thing, Egon Durban, this is a remarkable talent that is a part of this program, Michael Meldman and the success he’s had and Tom Wagner and the success he has had,” Carroll said.

“It’s a group that’s assembled; it’s like Oceans 11, like, ‘Here we go, bro.’ It is something. It’s rare, it’s rare to feel the energy from them — they are really excited about it.”

“Tom and I have been battling for years,” Carroll said. “So that respect that I had for him and knowing what he stood for and to see him come back and knowing he will be a part of this organization, a part of football, part of this thing [made me want to be here].”

While Brady has not had his full attention directed towards the Raiders organization due to his role as the lead analyst for Fox NFL broadcasts, he clearly appears to be making his presence felt in the organization.

“When Mark figured out how to put Tom Brady in this mix and bring that kind of value into it, Mark made a great move,” Carroll said.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, may be new to the ownership aspect of the sport, but the respect he carries from his time as a player is invaluable. In addition to his résumé in the Super Bowl, he is a three-time MVP and is the NFL’s all-time passing leader.

With the team’s new head coach and general manager in place, the organization will now shift its focus to the roster and building a contender for next year and years to come. After finishing in fourth place in the AFC West with a 4-13 record in 2024, Raiders fans will presumably expect better results this season, particularly with a coach of Carroll’s pedigree at the helm.
