Pennsylvania Sports Betting Timeline
2022: After a long wait, Caesars Sportsbook finally launches in Pennsylvania.
2020: Barstool Sports, in partnership with PENN Entertainment, launched their online sportsbook, with Pennsylvania being their debut state.
2019: In May, PlaySugarHouse was the first online sportsbook to launch, with betPARX and BetRivers soon to follow. In July, FanDuel launched, with DraftKings eventually joining that November.
2018: On May 14th, 2018, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned PASPA (Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act), officially ending the federal ban on sports betting in the United States. The first retail sports book opened in November with Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
