Here's everything you need to know about the latest New England Patriots practice squad signings, including the return of an intriguing corner.

The New England Patriots practice squad is coming into shape. On Wednesday, New England signed seven practice squad players, all of whom were released on roster cutdown day. They added the same number of players on Thursday, including three external additions.

Patriots Officially Add 6 Players to Practice Squad

On Thursday afternoon, the Patriots announced the signings of the following six practice squad players:

    • WR Jalen Reagor
    • DT Trysten Hill
    • G Michael Jordan
    • C Bryan Hudson
    • G Jerome Carvin
    • DE Brevin Allen

Reagor, Hill, and Jordan all survived final roster cuts but were released on Wednesday. All will provide useful depth at positions of need early in the season. Hill would make sense as an early practice squad elevation, as the Patriots need depth at defensive tackle while Christian Barmore is sidelined due to blood clots.

The Patriots also could elevate Reagor for their Week 1 road game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Reagor enjoyed a solid training camp and is arguably the best kick returner in the building.

Allen, Carvin, and Hudson were external additions. Hudson went undrafted in 2024, whereas Carvin and Allen both went undrafted in 2023. Allen is the only one with NFL experience, having appeared in two games for the Los Angeles Chargers.

Hudson could prove immediately useful with the Patriots brutally thin at center behind David Andrews.

1 More Player Reportedly on the Way

Second-year corner Isaiah Bolden was also released on Wednesday to clear space for waiver claims.

A seventh-round pick in 2023, Bolden missed all of his rookie campaign due to a head injury but showed upside this summer as a lengthy corner and dynamic kick returner.

Bolden couldn’t join the practice squad right away because he first needed to clear waivers.

However, the 24-year-old defensive back did clear waivers on Thursday. Subsequently, he is set to sign to the practice squad, according to Mike Reiss of ESPN.

What Is the Current State of the Patriots Practice Squad?

NFL teams are permitted to carry 16 players on their practice squad. Here’s what the Patriots’ 14-man group looked like as of Friday morning:

    • WR Matt Landers
    • WR Jalen Reagor
    • DT Trysten Hill
    • G Michael Jordan
    • C Bryan Hudson
    • G Jerome Carvin
    • DE Brevin Allen
    • RB Kevin Harris
    • RB Terrell Jennings
    • OL Liam Fornadel
    • TE Mitchell Wilcox
    • S A.J. Thomas
    • DE Jotham Russell
    • CB Isaiah Bolden

One interesting note: Russell doesn’t count toward the 16 slots because he’s a member of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. A former Australian rugby player, Russell essentially allows the Patriots to carry a 17-man practice squad.
