Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Julian Edelman are among the best offensive trios in football history. Very few can match what the trio did on the field together for the New England Patriots over the years, but now retired, Edelman and Gronkowski chose to link up with Tom Brady’s rival QB to poke fun at the seven-time Super Bowl champion.
Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman Tease Tom Brady After Ditching QB Over Peyton Manning
Both Gronkowski and Edelman played their entire careers with Brady (save Edelman’s final year in New England in 2020). Gronkowski even followed Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 and caught the most touchdown passes from him (90). Edelman caught third-most at 36, while second on that list, Randy Moss, had 39.
With all three retired now, Edelman and Gronkowski have been free to find other QBs and chose the most hilarious one this past week: Brady’s greatest rival and Hall of Famer, Peyton Manning.
Manning visited Tiffany’s with Gronk and Edelman, who shared the pictures from the trip and teased Brady.
“Playing the field, sorry @TomBrady,” Edelman playfully tweeted.

The NFL greats were at Tiffany’s to see how the iconic luxury jewelry company creates the Lombardi Trophy, which is awarded to the Super Bowl champions. The company has been making the trophy since it was first presented to Vince Lombardi after winning Super Bowl I in 1967. They also build and design championship trophies for the NBA, MLB, and the US Open.
While the trio of Edelman, Manning, and Gronkowski may not have known much about making the Lombardi Trophy, they know a ton about winning one. Manning won two, Edelman won three, and Gronkowski won four. That’s 11 Lombardi Trophies in one picture, something even Brady’s seven titles can’t match.
Julian Edelman Reveals His and Tom Brady’s Hype Song
“So, anytime I would catch a third down that they would play. I used to like, ‘I can’t stop, stop, stop,” Edelman said on the “Games With Names” podcast. “They came up to me and asked me what do you want your theme song, and I wanted the Kanye, Jay-Z remake of I Can’t Stop. (Actually, the song Who Gonna Stop Me) And there’s a part where I can’t stop. Like, you can’t stop getting them. They would play it after I got a third down or a touchdown or a big play.”
Then he related Brady’s personal favorite.
“Yeah, Tom had Public Service Announcement,” Edelman said. “So anytime we would be on pregame, there’d be the regular music from the stadium, and when Tom would get ready, it would just stop. It would be Public Service Announcement by Jay-Z.”
“And he would run out, and that’s when he would go do his little thing, and that’s when you knew it was getting time. Better strapping up the f***ing chinstrap. Gametime. Tom’s Out.”
